In recent years, however, some managers have avoided using job descriptions in their organizations, beleving that the practice encourages employees to behave as if the job were their personal property, thus limiting management;s ability to deploy workers flexibly in different work roles according to need. In addition , critics of job descritpions caim that is almost immposible to provide an accurate job description, since many jobs are in a state of continous flux as technologies and market conditions change. As one manager put it , "Job descriptions are obsolete in my company before they are even written."

The company I work for pays poorly. We don't have any union. The basic starting salary for one of the jobs has not changed in 6 years. What can be done to see our wages increase? Can I do anything?

Ok... so here's the question...
I work 9pm- close but they usually close at 9 and there's no event going on tonight (so it wouldnt be later than 9). And when we work shifts the minimum hour is 3 hours. so that would mean I have to work 9-12... but I think its closing at 9... so did they just scedual me for cleaning up or what?

What do I do? I am stuck in a job where my boss treats me like I am lower than dirt?! I am suppose to be an office manager but he treats me like I am a receptionist. He comes in to my office and will scream and yell and cuss at me when he gets upset. I am only 24yrs old and I love my job. I am just tired all the time now. This is the first job that I have had that actually shows my skills and I don't want to blow it seems how I have only been here for 3 months. But really how much can a person take. On top of all of it I have my husband who is constantly telling me to quit and that I am not the same happy person I was before. Can someone please help me decide what to do??

Let me start out by saying that I DO NOT want a work at home job, but I was curious to know something....

Without giving a specific company name, has anyone ever had a great experience with a Work-at-Home company?

Again, please, no company names. I want a little honesty, not a sales pitch.

One of three bosses that I have is an absolute trash talker! She talks bad about everyone!! Its hard to hear her say these things because she IS my BOSS and its hard for me to even work with her. One of my best friends works with us, and she even made a remark about her and at that point I was ready for fight mode! But I can't because she's my boss...I've told another boss and it seemed as though it wasn't handled, oh well brush it off. How can I get her to shut up and stop talking trash about EVERYONE!? (without losing my job!?)

My husband gave 2 weeks notice to his employer. They wouldn't accept it saying that's not their policy. If he turned it in, that is his last day and he will not be paid for the 2 weeks. Women who have worked there have given 2 weeks notice and been allowed to work it (2 before my husband gave his, 1 after) so it is not policy.
A friend of mine said in the state of Texas, an employer must either accept the 2 weeks notice or pay the employee the wages for those 2 weeks. Can anyone show me where this is written?

I have seen a job for part time work which I am interested in, I need a cover letter, but I have no idea how to write on.It is for a baby equipment retailers http://www.tonykealys.com/

The only relevant experience I have is that I have a two year old daughter and am a real people person.
I currently work as an adminisrator for a software comapny and would really like this job as I need extra cash as I am trying to buy my own house...that's my real motivation but obviously I can't say that.

All help would be gratefully received and if any more info is required, just ask or drop me an email.

Thanks!

I was told one of the few talents I have an amazing knack for is speaking to crowds. I love doing it by the way. Are there jobs (besides teaching) where public speaking is the primary function. Also, what about paid public speaking engagements. How do I get into that?
