What is the best steps for trying to find work, a place to live and basically starting a new life when you are moving out of state? I never lived anywhere else but here in Virginia. I am thinking of leaving my job because I think my boss bullies me. He leaves post-it notes on my monitor saying "Mr Fatlips" or "Chunky Cow Man". I often find rusty nails and broken glass on my chair. He also once grated cheese on my head and rubbed it in while shouting "Look at the cheesy little spider!"

I am a single mom in her 40's living in hyde park/chicago. It seems like a great with a company, corporate move, great salary and benefits. My dad, sister, are in chicago. I have only lived in chicago and 10 years in San Francisco. I haven't found a great or even a go job in chicago.

My boss has scheduled a 'retreat' in the same town where we live and work. It is 20 min from my house but she wants us to stay in the hotel where we meet. I want to go home, the meetings end at 6pm and then I want to leave, not stay there and have drinks + dinner with them or sleep over. What can I say? HELP!! This boss made someone get a refund on a concert ticket last year for this in-town retreat, so the excuse needs to be very good.

however i am finding it hard to find a job which pays enough for my partner to give up his job as i have no qualifications and what little experience i have is only in shops and pubs. I consider my self to be quite intelligent and have 11 GCSE grade A-C i am also a hard worker and willing to train, however i have no paperwork to show my comptencies. Hey all. I'm sitting here at the start of a week off from college. I have atleast 40 hours work to do this week on my thesis and another project but I just can't seem to motivate myself to get it done. I've only 3 months left in my degree and if I want to pass the work needs to get done. The problem is I just can't motivate myself. My folks have put me through the last four years in college but I have no interest in it anymore, plus I have a great job in furniture design waiting for me whenever I want it. I feel like just quiting and going to work but I couldn't do that to my folks plus I know I'd be better off if I finished the course. The result is this idle sitting on the PC just wasting time! Any thoughts or suggestions?

Is it worth trying to join up to the Merchant Navy as a rating? I've been told that there aren't any Brits serving as ratings any more as foreign labour is a lot cheaper for the shipping companies?
