Hey all. I'm sitting here at the start of a week off from college. I have atleast 40 hours work to do this week on my thesis and another project but I just can't seem to motivate myself to get it done. I've only 3 months left in my degree and if I want to pass the work needs to get done. The problem is I just can't motivate myself. My folks have put me through the last four years in college but I have no interest in it anymore, plus I have a great job in furniture design waiting for me whenever I want it. I feel like just quiting and going to work but I couldn't do that to my folks plus I know I'd be better off if I finished the course. The result is this idle sitting on the PC just wasting time! Any thoughts or suggestions?

Definitely the best and easiest way to motivate yourself is by being around other people who are motivated & enthusiastic. But not the kind of people who just keep telling you what to do and how much they've done. Genuinely, happy-go-lucky enthusiastic people who make you feel like it's not such a big deal. Let some of it rub off on you and carry you along. Worked for me...

Hiya!

You may not feel like it now but its always best to have qualifications as a back up for the future. This furntiure job may seem ace now but in a few years you may get bored and want bigger and better, and the more you can offer an employer the better I say!

So stop being lazy and think of how many doors you are opening for the future!

Good Luck

As bookfiend...said. Think more about your parents and making them happy. Their happiness should give you a great sense of satisfaction. Sacrifice, sacrifice sacrifice. Think of all the time they sacrificed for you. The smile on their face at the end of it all should be your motivation. And by getting your degree you will increase your earning power and there may come a day when they may need your assistance financially. Maybe not, but wouldn't it be great to be able to easily take care of them in their golden years? Get of your duff and get college taken care of . You'll have time to work soon enough. Now don't make me tell you again. : ) No, seriously, think of your parents, think about your parents. Show gratitude to them. Respect them. I'm rambling but you get the point.

bex, you be careful driving. BE SAFE!

Turn off the PC and finish the project. No job today lasts a lifetime and you will need the degree.

Do it for your family. If that doesn't motivate you after all they've done for you then you don't deserve any success anyway.
