What will for me as Asian be different when I move to the States regarding the working culture? I'm used to long working hours, receiving detailed working instructions and misstrusting working climate. Will it be in the States (San Francisco) the same?

I recently revised my resume and the new version is a big improvement. I've sent the old version of my resume to a few companies. I would like to send the new version to the companies who were previously sent the old version.

Below is the cover letter I plan to send with the updated copy of my resume. What do you think? Would you add any additional information?

Please keep in mind that my previous cover letter went into detail on why I was a good fit for the job. Also, keep in mind that the old resume was sent less than two weeks ago, so they should still have it on hand.

"Dear Mr Hiring Manager

I recently mailed you a copy of my resume for the XYZ position. Enclosed is a new copy of my resume that better highlights my skills and qualifications.

Sincerely,

John Doe"

I just got a job through a temporary staffing firm. Today was my first day there and I didn't like the job. Should I quit the job? If so, what should I tell the manager from the staffing firm?

I am an administrator in an investment bank. Feeling lack of my fundamental financial knowledge and opportunity for better career within the firm, I am planning to go to college to receive BA in finance. Which will be the best school in New York City for working person, who can only take a class in the night and weekends? And if anybody already went through it, can you share your experience with me? Thank you!

I am a 27 year old stay at home mom with a 4 year old daughter...basically I am the mom and the dad too. I realized I need to go back to school and get a degree because I have a feeling I am going to be doing this (supporting my daughter alone) forever. I would like to get my degree in something I'd be able to use at home....I was considering majoring in business and minoring in accounting ...or vice versa. Any ideas??????? My parents have been supporting us ....and it's been awesome...but I really need to go out and get something for myself and for my daughter.

I want to find a way to provide the tools then evaluate how well one uses the tools to determine which candidates to hire. (the training would take about 6 hours) I will have a large pool of applicants and don't want to do the full paper work unless I really want to keep the candidate.

I have two jobs: one teaching for a college, one working for an insurance company. I HATE working in the corporate environment. I don't like the hours. I don't care about if the company does well or not. I think most of the people who work there lack imagination and spunk.

I've worked in corporate America several times, and each job I've held, I've felt unsatisfied and unhappy. Working in academics, I feel overworked, but happy.

Is this odd? Does anyone like working for a corporation?

has any of you ever been in a relationship with someone who isn't mature enough, who thinks childishly ...and that the more you invest yourself in the relationship, the more you see , that you start to integrate a part of her thinking style in yourself...? and if it happens that you breakup with that person, the post effect remains , and you take a little while before you retrieve yourself back (sometimes months)

My daughter grew up with her mother. Her side of the family is very poor. My parents were college professors. My mom is now quite wealthy.

I'm considering giving my 2001 Ranger to my daughter when she graduates from college in May and moves to Santa Rosa, CA.

My mother is against it. She feels that my daughter should get a job first. I think that having dependable transportation makes getting a good job much easier.

What do you think?

What happens if I never get the feeling back in my finger? Is workmans comp going to reimburse me for all of my time? I have never had to do this before so maybe somebody can tell me what I need to do from experience, I appreciate any help you can give me, thanks.

I am open to up to four years of college, no more. I'm looking for a job that pays no less than 100,000 bucks per/yr. I am really into Language arts and sports. I don't want a job that requires a lot of paperwork, but I want something indoors. I'd love a high-paying job that includes both L.A. and sports but one or the other would be fine for me. I also love to interact with people 1-on-1. My first career option was the Psychiatry field, but that's way to much schooling for me. I hope you all can help me find some clarity for this issue.

I applied at FedEX today, I really want the job, becuase they pay really good money for a college student. Should I call them tommorow and see what they say? My dad manages a hardware store and he said call the next day. He says if someone calls him, he'll ask them for an interview. I just don't want to be annoying.
