Can I still collect umemployment in Texas if I have been laid off with severence pay?

I have been laid off since November but have not collected any unemployment because I am receiving severence pay until the end of January.

One can't, and if one does, it is illegal and immoral~!

Yes, you will be able to file once your severence pay runs out.. It can take up to four weeks to get your first check so file now. You should be able to file online now.
