I just got a job through a temporary staffing firm. Today was my first day there and I didn't like the job. Should I quit the job? If so, what should I tell the manager from the staffing firm?

Given that it is a temporary staffing firm, I'd suggest finding out if there are other opportunities that the firm can provide. Although you mention that you don't like the job, sometimes folks just don't like the environment. If it is the latter, it may be too early to decide.

It would be good to nail down what aspects of the job you don't like -- and have a frank chat. Also in case you do decide to quit, you'll be clear about the kinds of questions to ask.

Good luck.

Give it 1 more day & if you still don't like it ask the manager @ the staffing firm for another assignment. If you want to keep working w/ the staffing firm, give them time to find a replacement before you leave.

Be specific about what you are looking for & what you are/are not willing to do so you get more suitable assignments.

Also, check out and evaluate other staffing firms in your area. Interview them & see if they have more appealing assignments.

Good luck!

Talk to the manager of the staffing firm, tell them you don't care for it and why. Let them try to make other arrangements. Do it in a way that you can still work through the staffing firm. If you just quit, the firm won't want anything to do with you again, because it'll reflect badly on them.

Let them help you figure a way out. If they can't, you're still able to quit, but at least you tried to preserve your options first.

No one really likes their job, but i'm on your side if you want to quit. Don't do anything you are not happy with. Although it's money earned, you will not be happy. However, the temp agency may not like it that you are quitting, they may not call you for another job or even help you get another job. You should be honest & up front about why you are quitting. Next time you accept a job, make sure you read the description of the job & make sure you get all the details about the job before you accept it because you can't just accept a job, work 1 day, then quit because you realize you don't like it. Life doesn't work like that. You have to look for what your interested in, know what your accepting in details so there's no reason to walk away next time. GOOD LUCK!

It's a temp job right, you should try it for at least a week? Also you should get a job at a permanent company before you quit, unless you don't need money...If something really bad happenned today ie sexual harrassment, you should talk to the manager of the job and/or your staffing agent.

wow, don't quit on the first day. Just wait a bit. I know it feels terrible. I've had about six jobs and each and every time the first day is terrible. It's all the nerves of meeting new ppl and all the office ppl piling you with lowly stuff no one bothers with coz you are new. Wait it out and it gets better. Plus, don't quit until you find a better job. And what will you tell your next employer. It looks bad on your resume "I quit after one day coz I felt like *****". So, stick it out a bit. Give it time. Once you settle with the ppl there you'll be fine. Just relax and enjoy. you'll meet new ppl and just think of it as an adventure. Good luck

don't know about this subject to much, but I asked my dad and he says that tell the firm that your not happy with the job and let them know why you don't like it, he says to wait till they have a better job for you, To just up and quit would put a mark on your work history, as for how long you lasted at this job. Better to keep this job and the money coming in insted of quiting and not being able to pay your bills :-)

Ask them for another assignment. Depending on how friendly the staffing place is, they might give you another one. Some aren't so cool, but it won't hurt to ask.

because searching for a job if you're employed isn't dishonest and also you pastime don't have emotions. yet another component, you want a job to help your self. you do not desire a relationship. easily each so often it truly is nice to be on my own between relationships.
