Have you ever been unemployed for more than a year?

I am now going on 14 months without a job and am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and how do you cope? Financially I'm okay, but I must confess that I'm getting bummed-out about the lack of prospects!

First off, relax. You're not going to make any headway if you're freaked out.

Put out resumes, check online jobsites, pull out that Classified section and make a few marks. If you don't hear from someone, you don't. Just keep your cool.

submit your resume to leading jobsite like www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com. Also you should consult local placement consultant in your area. In the meantime, look out for an option to work online. Although it wont pay you like full time job but you can make extra cash in your spare time. I have before..Its very dishearting because its in the blood of some people to be productiive and busy all the time. Try training for something new

When I was in my late teens I quit my job and didn't work for awhile... but that was a long time ago.

i havent worked for a year, but i go to college. i know how you feel. it sucks after a while.
