The best toolbox for an inventor/designer is a futuristic point of view. Futurists always look at their problems from patterns around the subject. Whenever a social pattern is changing, then new products are needed to over come the change. Old products will be out of date and current products need up grade and changes.

Then let me do not give you some ideas. let me introduce you the word of patterns. look around and find them. as they are changing day to day, your design world is always fresh for wow solutions.

good luck

Well, design things that people need... hmmm... let me think.

A robot that can clean rooms. No not a vacuum, something that literally picks up stuff off of the floor and puts it away neatly. Is that even possible?

A laundry sorter, something that can sort the socks from the shirts, etc. although, I think you will have only one buyer, me.

I can't think right now, I might post some better ideas later.
