I think that this question is a bit different than all the other ones. I just recently turned 16 years of age and I'm wanting to get a job somewhere (preferably not one that deals with food). I've applied at countless places, online and in person. However, I can never seem to get a call back from anyone! Has anyone run into this situation?

I am curious to know since I am a working high school student.

----I want to know IN GENERAL...not just my specific situation.----

My boss said I would get paid minimum for the first month only because it is the "training period" however I have been working there for nearly 7 months and I am still at $7.00.

****But I want to know IN GENERAL...not just my specific situation.****

IN CALIFORNIA! =)

I am a college student and right now I am in a sales job but I am anticipating loosing that job at the end of the month. I have been unable to find any work at all, and I really need the money to pay for bills and school. I have been offered a job as a cocktail waitress at a "private, upscale, gentleman's club" it pays very well and they even give an allowance for clothing. All they say I have to do is dress provacatively, and flirt with guys. There is no stripping, touching or anything like that. Should I take it?

She's been working for this store for 2 months, already had a bonus for the holiday & he calls her out of the blue to say it's not working out and offered her more money!!
Isn't that illegal, meaning bribing someone?
Should she call the Labor Board to ask what to do?

Any help would be appreciated.

My friend works as a cashier for Home Depot and I hardly ever call her at work. I do shop there, especially now, for paint supplies and other things. Her superviser seems to think that she has a right to refer to me by my first name or to act as if I know her and I don't. It really pisses me off because I am a paying customer, not some retard that goes to hang out at the store! I buy my things and leave. But when I call, on very rare occasions, to return a call from my friend, she calls me by my first name and gives me some snotty self-righteous attitude. I told her that I don't know her and I expect the same treatment as any normal customer, which I am, and she got mad and took it out on my friend. If this woman has a problem with the level of professionalism I expect from her, she should take it out with me, and not on my friend. It is not my friend's problem! What should I do about it? Should I report the dreadful woman? I feel she's overstepping her boundaries....

I keep seeing crashcrate.com, treasuretrooper.com and mylot.com - should we all report everyone advertising these sites? First, I think it's spam and second, I don't think they really work and would be damaging to the Answers users who try this and get burned.

I was thinking about a veterinarian, (or something of that sort), I think i would be good at it because I love animals and I am good at science. But I also like English alot. Any ideas for some careers? I would really appreciate it.

I have been unemployed for about 10 months and can't find a job with a livable wage for a middle aged homeowner. I'm almost ready to lose my home and my self esteem is plummeting.

I have approximately 15 years of experience in health claims administration and customer service. I have another 5+ years of experience in related administrative experience. Overall I have around 23 years of office administration experience. I am very computer literate and feel that I have outstanding people skills. For the past 5 years or so, I have been contemplating starting my own consulting business, from my home, that utilizes my experience. What steps do I take? How do I price my product? How can I create a client base? Is their a resource for start up capitol? What do I call myself? How do I market myself? Do I have competition? Can anyone help me? I live in Indianapolis, so there is a potentially large client base. I have also though of relocation to an area with more retirees.
