I also have an offer to cocktail waitress at a gentlemens club. I know that I will make more money waitressing at the club then I will at this company but the waitressing is only temporary.. I need money but I am confused if I should pass up working at this company to work as a waitress. And I do have a bachelors degree but the easy money is tempting... Any insight would be helpful..serious answers..thanks!

i am 29 single,no kids and just moved to the las vegas area.. I am still not sure how long I will want to stay here...still deciding. The office job is about 45 min from my house in traffic

If the company is offering you something you really want to do and you can learn from it, then take it instead. If you need extra money, work as a cocktail waitress part time.
Bottom line, there are so many opportunities, you should try to do what you like to do and learn more about what you enjoy doing. Don't work for someone just because they offer benefits. Health benefits aren't really worth that much. And don't work for the money. Think about what you like to do and move in that direction. You'll eventually make much more if you do what you enjoy doing.

It would be helpful to have more details about you. How old are you? Is the job making $15.00 an hour in your area of where you want to make a career? Do you have a family as in husband and/or kids? Why do you need the money so bad? Wouldn't it be better to get on with your career?
I am sorry but all those questions I asked you have a bearing on which way you should choose your path. I see you say the waitressing would only be temporary. What does that mean? Just not enough info for me to answer honestly.

The benefits are usually worth quite a bit of money. Try figuring what it would cost you to get these o your own: life insurance, medical, dental, medical for your kids ... whatever they have in benefits. Plus, there may be opportunities to move to a better position in the company, but "waitressing" at a "gentleman's club" is not a great thing for your resume in the future.
On the other hand, if you can afford medical insurance yourself and have no dependents, you could build up some serious savings.
Keep in mind that the $15/hour is guaranteed to be given to you, but the waitressing is not.

So, why can't you do both? If the 15/hr job is daytime, you can still waitress on weekend nights until the waitressing gig ends. You said it's only temporary, so you may have no days off for a couple of weeks but you will sock away the money.

A job with profit sharing or stock options is a job better than anything you've just describe.
Wal-Mart and Starbucks are among the best - you may not get a good wage, but your work will pay off in the long run given that you're offered profit sharing and stock options over a simple wage.
I remember reading that someone working at Wal-Mart for 75 cents an hour for 4 years cashed in a $400,000 check thanks to stock options.
