Peace Corp. works wonders around the world. Also you should check out the American Red Cross, they also help starving children around the world. As well as catholic missionaries.

There are several government organizations you should look into. Some have age requirements and pay a stipend and provide clothing. Check out the Peace Corps. Also, many churches send groups overseas to provide aid and of course, religious education. Contact your local churches to see what they have to offer. At a minimum they should be able to direct you to one of their charity contacts. I am currently living in South Korea, teaching English. It's not helping starving children but if you want to travel and experience another culture it's a good way to go. You don't need a teaching degree. If you are American, Canadian or from the U.K. or Australia and have any 4 year degree you can get a job. Taiwan, China, Korea and many other countries are looking for English teachers. Check out the web under teaching overseas. Good luck!

I'd do a google search looking for world vision, war child, unicef, peace corps or just jobs helping poor children. You generally have to have some kind of background either in education or social work or community development, engineering etc. So your best bet is start volunteering within your community as well as getting a degree that would be useful overseas.

You can work in soup kitchens, shelters, out in the cold programs if you're in Canada. You might even look into Katimavik , if you're Canadian and between 18 and 29.

Lots of places to help I'm sure in your own country and then go overseas.

You also might check the global missions of your particular church or temple .

Hope that helps. Good luck and God bless you for thinking about someone other than yourself.
