well all jobs come with big mouth people if you can prove she's on drugs then you can tell your manager but the main thing is proof and she has no right to yell at you tell her if she wants respect she has to give it , your manager shouldn't allow this from an employee no matter how good of a worker she may be i'd tell her right back and let her know you can have a big mouth too . good luck

And just how do you know this unless you are there with her and the drugs...??

This can get you in trouble as well.

How about being kind to her and letting her know she may want to seek assistance for her problem? If you have the same insurance, give her the # to call if you want to be extra nice and give her a big hint at the same time.

But if you really, really want to let someone at work know about the way she is acting, keep it strictly business. Don't mention her personal life. You come across looking petty and it is just plain not nice.

What if the shoe were on the other foot in a slightly different way? Let's say you had a spouse who was beating you, or you had a medical problem or a financial problem or anything else that was interfering with your job and you were acting up. It is true that you should not, but would you need some tattletale coworker talking behind your back on top of the rest of your overwhelming problems? She may get fired on her own without you saying anything. Don't kick her when she's down. Stay out of it if you can.

WWJD?

"stirring the pot"? Is that her drug or an expression I missed out on.. Well, she may not be on drugs; ever seen someone really mad at the world (for some reason or another) and also didn't sleep much. As far as physical appearances, I don't think the two (drug users/angry non-sleepers) really look all that different. Maybe she's having a rough time, but if she is not doing her job and she is interferring with your ability to work I suggest talking to management saying that she's doing a poor job and hurting your ability to work with customers, and have the drug issue as a side note (otherwise, you may look like you're judging her for her drug use when in fact you're judging her b/c she's a crappy employee). I would also suggest that you find out how she got the job (sometimes through relatives, friends). If you complain about her and she got the job through a connection (who may be your manager) then it may be your butt in the frying pan. Just be diplomatic about it and you should be okay. Good luck!

I begin to wonder about the type of business you work in. You call the clients guests so i presume some sort of hospitality situation. And the girl swears and talks loudly? Are you sure if this is ongoing that you are in the right job? Anyway.
The main issue here is the poor treatment of guests. After all they write our paychecks, and without them no paycheck.
Call her actions to the attention of the immediate supervisor (both with guests and her treatment of you) and let them deal with it. If she is on drugs they will eventually know it. You never know they may be aware already and are waiting for the right opportunity to address it so there is no liability on thier part for unemployment compensation or other factors.

Be sure she is just not rude. Many people confuse rude and high class. Whenever you report someone to the boss, you must be able to suffer the repercussions. Your boss will assume you cannot handle yourself. Is she in a position of authority over you? If not, why do you allow her to talk to you in such a manner. Does she treat others as she treats you? You may want to talk to them and get some ideas on how to handle her. If it's just you, you better figure out why. Surely management has noticed her appearance and her actions and has chosen not to act. Before you report anyone be sure to document her actions so it is not just he said, she said. No one should be made to feel that uncomfortable or have to listen to swearing. It is not only unprofessional, it is illegal.

If you are aware that she is on drugs, don't you think the boss knows also? If she is treating you rudely in front of guests, you should report her. That cannot be tolerated, guests do not have to listen to that........I would report her for that behavior and then just ask them to "watch" her and her behavior closer. Don't accuse anyone of something you cannot prove beyond a shadow of doubt............!!!

For your benefit, the management's benefit, but most importantly HER benefit, I would definitely report her. She needs help to stop doing drugs more than anything... and unless someone speaks up like yourself, she's looking at a really crummy future.

Good luck in your decision :D
