She's been working for this store for 2 months, already had a bonus for the holiday & he calls her out of the blue to say it's not working out and offered her more money!!
Isn't that illegal, meaning bribing someone?
Should she call the Labor Board to ask what to do?

Any help would be appreciated.

That would be called severance pay. That means, your friend gets money upon being fired so she has time to find a new job.

This, unfortunately for your friend, is 100% legal. Of course, I doubt your friend would want to leave her job without getting any severance pay.

Wish your friend luck, provide support, and keep his or her chin up through the process :D

Wait. 1st said it isn't working out and then offered her "more" money? More for what?
That make no sense.
If you are in a "right to work" state then she has no solid recourse. She can try to fight it but, why would she want to?
Best cut her losses and get on with the business of life.
