I work as a cashier for a well-known supermarket chain here on Long Island. I got a new job in Manhattan which will pay me more. Problem is, my current job has me scheduled to work in the mornings, and I am scheduled to work next week at this job.

I was told that if I don't come in, that I will be fired and banned from ever working there forever. Ever since the new manager was hired, there have been problems. Some of the staff have complained about the way she runs the Front End.

I moved to Brooklyn for a month, and then asked to come back. I had got suspended because a customer stole $180.00 worth of groceries. I got blamed for it, even though I didn't do it.

She said that my life should be centered around my job, and that she won't let me quit. I wasn't expecting to get my new job. This all happened with in a period of 2 days.

They also cut my hours and I am barely surviving. I'm living from paycheck to paycheck right now.

What should I do?

My previous job is very different from the recent jobs that I applied for. I was doing paperwork,and data entry. Honestly, I didn't like my previous job very much. I tried to apply anywhere, and also, I thought about changing the type of job I want to do.

I recently applied for a banquet server position, and interviewed with the office manager 2 days ago. I told her I have no previous experience in serving, but am a quick learner. I'm not sure when she'll be calling me, though. I hope that she will this weekend or within this week.

I have a friend who is a part-time server, and had no previous experience at all when she applied for that job. She had recently talked to her manager about me 3 days ago. But, I have no certainty. I haven't received a call from the manager.

However, I also applied for a retail sales associate position, and I can go tomorrow for training. I was just less motivated when I learned that the salary is $ 7.25 per hr, and it's about 30 mins. away.

I've written erotica for my husband for years, and lately I've become interested in writing customized erotica for profit, but is there really any money to be made in it? I have a sister who is graduating in a few weeks with her degree to become a physician's assistant. I want to get her something nice for graduation, like a nice brief case, or something that she can use at her job perhaps. She has most anything else she needs. We are both big Heart Fans, so I was planning to get her the new Jupiters Dream cd to go with it. Does a PA need a nice leather brief case, or bag to carry documents in, or equiment? Im not familiar whether or not she would even be able to use this.

I like my job and most of the people i work with. However, i get paid peanuts for what (i think) i am worth. Our salesmen are always giving me compliments on how much of a great job i am doing and they even mention it to the owner of the company, but still all i get is criticism from Pam (my FEMALE boss). I have a 16 month old daughter and i need to make at least 3 dollars more. I know that i probably won't get that much of a raise but i need at least a dollar. Our year-end-review is coming up and I need to know how to prepare myself for her negative attitude towards me and i need to know a proffesional way of asking for a raise even if her feedback on me is negative.

Work Experience Interview @ Barclays Bank? Help!?
I'm in Year 10 and am having an interview with Barclays Bank - never done an interview before. Now, inevitable questions will be Why do you want to work at Barclays? Why are you interested in banking? Now the reason I want to work at Barclays are really convenience and my mate is doing it. So, how should I answer these questions? And any other tips? i wrote about this the other day. i just turned 5 months preg on sunday. and i had the interview last thursday but did not mention anything about it cause i was afraid that they wouldnt consider me. the job is a receptionist in a big doctors office. im still not quite showing yet but i know that pretty sooon i am going to pop! i am just afraid to tell them!!! i dont want to get fired cause of this! but i know they arent allowed to fire me because im pregnant, but the thing is that im going to be in the 3 months probation thing... so she can just fire me for any little thing.. and i mean i want to continue in this job after my pregnancy! this job offers great opportunities!!! my boss' best friends daughter and her best friend work where i work. i got into a fight with the daughter's best friend. ( a guy) its a pretty bad fight too. do i need to apologize due to the fact that im scared he will tell the daughter of my boss' best friend and i might get fired?? thats the ONLY reason id apologize. long story short he got pissed off at me at work because i couldnt help him finish his work because i was too busy WORKING and he was wasting time socializing. i called him on it and he freaked out on me. now what?
