When I started this job I had certain things I had to do. Now they have piled more things on top of that and it gets very frustrating. Especially when they get ill because something isn't done. Meanwhile the people in the other office that take on more duties have received raises. Should I ask for one and if so how should I go about doing it?

I've worked for a company for 5 months. I know this isn't long, but I got sick and am going through some medical testing. My doctor sent my employer a note that I am "medically excused from work until further notice." I have been off 2 weeks. I know this is a long time, but I've done superior work and have had excellent reviews. Here's the problem. At first, they called about 4 times a day asking what is going on. They also called and started throwing up false accusations and threatening my job. They are accusing me of lying when I've never given them reason to believe that. I believe this is a good reason to look for another job, but as soon as I go back, I can't and I will have to continue to put up with because I won't be able to get time off for interviews. My fionce' is upset and doesn't want me to quit. He makes enough that if it would take a couple of weeks to find something it wouldn't be a problem. He says it would be too much pressure on him. Advise please!

Was called out of the blue by an advertising company, and asked if I would be interested in coming in for a chat in regards to a position they thought I would be perfect for.

Recieved a message on my voice mail the night before the meeting to be told not to bother coming in as they had already filled the position.

As you can imagine, I am SLIGHTLY pee'd off.

I was under the impression that it was common Courtesy to interview all applicants before making a dicision, beside's the fact that they came to me in the first instance!

Am I being over sensitive? Do you think I should contact the company and share my feelings?

I want to work in France or Spain next Summer but don't know what companies are the best to look for work with. I'd love to work as a courier or rep at a hotel or camping resort. Has anyone here worked abroad before? What companies should I try? I'm 18.

I've got an interview at Sainsbury's head office and have been sent a whole load of questions to have a "think" about beforehand. The job I am going for is not business related, yet the interview is standard - and I am not particulaly clued up on business.

One of the qns is "what impressions do I have of customer service at sainsbury's" - now, I have noticed on a trip that most of the shelves were bare, but is this defined as customer service? all I can think of regarding c/s is asking staff where the baked beans are which isn't going to give me a lot to talk about!

I also need to know "how the customer experimence at Sainsburys differs to that at Tesco's" - anyone got any ideas on this?

and how could Sainsburys improve the way it operates?

I'm a bit stumped really, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

P.s. I'm not cheating by asking on here as the qn says I'm supposed to be speaking to customers etc to get my answers

I have an entire semester as a break due to my transfer to another school which gave me time to look for work as I have decided that it will be a good way to spend my time. But I have never worked my entire life.

Now I decided to try and work for starbucks as a barista. I'm willing to be trained, which I know is a part of the process, but I'm totally clueless as to what I should expect of my training and my first few days on the job. Some info could really help me mentally prepare for my first job. I'd love to hear from actual baristas.

What should I expect of this job?
What are some the so-called "skills" regarding coffee preparation?
What is a typical day for a barista?
Anything that I should watch out for?

Thanks in advance.
