how old were u when u got ur first car? as in paid entirely by yourself? wad car was it, how much, where did u work and wad was ur pay? wad was ur educational qualification? care to share??

i am planning to see when i can get my first car. i am 21 now. i have a few thousnads in my bank. i am going university in 2007. graduate probably 2009 or 2010. i will be 24-25 when i graduate. i wonder if it is possible to get my first car before 30? and i do not mean a suzuki swift. a camry or lexus is wad i want.. haha

19 years old, monthly payment was just under $100 per month.

In 1971 I bought a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 440 hemi engine and Hearst transmission. What a machine!!
I paid $4000.
I had graduated from University the year before and was working in banking making a paltry $7,600.00 a year.
The car got about 10 miles to the gallon and gas cost around 30 cents a gallon.
The good old days.

Oct. 1986 - I bought a 1987 Volkswagen Golf. I was 20 and had dropped out of college. I was making about $4.50 an hour (minimum wage was $3.15 then, I think). I put about $2000.00 down payment and financed the rest. I was working at the Volkswagen dealership, so I did get an employee discount. Actually that was why I applied for that job- because I really liked the VWs and wanted my own.

I am in JHB, South Africa.
I started working last year November and it was just after I turned 23...I had just returned overseas qualified with an Hons degree in Electronics Engineering with a major in Telecommunication. I bought my first car in March 2006 and it is 2006 2litre Mazda 3 Sports Dynamic.
I am working in Telecoms and I am loving it.

I was 16 in 1972 when my old man decided i was`nt going to drive his vehicles anymore. So he bought me a 1965 Pheonix yellow Ford Galaxy 500. He obviously bought it used. He gave the dealer $200. I had it payed off over the 1st summer working for a construction company making about $6.00 per. Wish I had it now. Lots of fond memories, most of them in the backseat!!!!
