No job is worth feeling low for! get a new career, one you will be happy in! Take your time and choose slowly and if you can afford it, take some time off before heading into a new career, honestly, no job is worth being miserable over. Work to live not live to work! x

You need to ask yourself how important is the money & can you make the same in your alternative career path? You need to think about what other skills you have got, and if money is important what the earning potential is with the alternative career. I am in a similar position but I dont want to down-size my house just cos works boring me silly at the moment!!

I think the budgetary concern is important as there is nothing worse that really having to struggle for what it is that's important for you if you don't have to. However ultimately it IS your choice and you need to weigh up how bad you really feel at work.
Other things to consider are .... Would another firm doing a similar role offer you a more enjoyable environment for a while? What is it that's really getting you down?

I fear you may have to stay there for a while, but if that's your conclusion for now ..... don't worry cos it still needn't be forever. Once armed with these answers you can start to dig yourself an escape tunnel!! Good Luck with whatever you decide. This could be the most exiting question you ever asked.

The best way to decide what career you really should be doing in life is to think of a hobby or interest that you love and that you dont get bored doing. Dont just walk away from your job just now. If your interest or hobby needs a bit of brushing up on, then go to night class or do a correspondance course on the subject and work towards it slowly and gain experience and gain certificates on your chosen subject. Do it part time and see how things go, then decide from there. Finding a balance is good. Good luck.

What is it about your job that's getting you down? If it's not challenging enough, can you ask your manager for some suggestions or go for a promotion? Would a change of company help alleviate your frustration? If you want a career change is it possible to study in the evenings while you continue your work.

Unfortunately, there's not cut and dried answer, but I hope you figure out what it is you don't like and that you're able to change it so you enjoy your work - we spend so much time doing it!!

I think you need to work out why it is getting you down. I also work in sales and without meaning to be corny, it's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Maybe you need to recharge your batteries. When was the last time you took a 2 week holiday? 5 years under your belt is quite precious and not to be thrown away. Maybe if a holiday is not what it's going to take, a new company doing lettings might do the trick. Good luck, life's to short to be down xx

Is it the work or where you work that gets you down? Whatever is pulling you down try not to let it compromise your health,it's not worth it. Get clear of any situation or person that makes you feel this way. Maybe a short break from work to rest and think about what is best may help.
