I've written erotica for my husband for years, and lately I've become interested in writing customized erotica for profit, but is there really any money to be made in it? I've toyed with the idea of creating a Web site, offering a sample story, listing prices, etc., but I'm a little concerned that it might be more trouble than it's worth. What do you think?

From my investigations there is a pretty good market for this type of writing...there are websites that offer writers the opportunity to get their work published in an ebook format and for each download there is a payment to the author. See Sources below to visit several sites that offer info on the business and also opportunities in the business.

As with any kind of writing, doing it well is half the battle, there's a market for this type and if you are good at it then I say go for it.

You are already writing for your hubby...take some of those and get them published...see how they do then go from there. Don't bother with your own site just yet unless you really want to. Test the waters first then go from there. When you do actually do your site? Quality, quality, quality...content, content, content...you'll be successful if you really put thought into all of it.

I am a writer, artists and web developer/designer and I am using the sites from others before I immerse myself full speed into things...I call it string-bean marketing :) simply because it may take a little longer but the potential to have long range effects and get yourself split into several streams of income is there and eventually you learn whether or not you should go out on your own and have the entire bean to yourself :)

Good luck and I say go for it!

The quick tale marketplace is broad open, however it is a ways from rewarding. Pay premiums for a tale incorporated in an anthology variety from 5 or ten dollars to 100 or so. Your first step could be to learn the complete contents of no less than 20 erotica anthologies released by way of industrial publishers (print or e book, does not topic--however they can not be self-released). That will supply you the concept of the kind of tale being bought and the high-quality required. Your moment step could be to uncover a choice for submissions at a location just like the Erotica Readers and Writers Association. Find one you believe you'll do. Note its designated specifications, adding what they do not desire to look, and the preferred phrase rely variety. Now write the tale. Ah, no longer as convenient as you notion, is it?
