My immediate boss fired me recently, but the owners of the company wld like to discuss with me when they're back in town in a week's time.

In my drunken stupor, I sent 2 emails to one of the bosses. One of them claimed that I'm sick of stupidity in human race, etc.... bottomline, it read like its from a sick arrogant b*tch.

I woke up and wish I was dead. I got no reply from him and I think I'm done for. Its so damn embarassing coz all the while I project a professional image.

Is there a fast and easy way to get over life's embarassing moments? If you were my boss, what are you thinking now? Geez, think I knew the answer.

Advice to all, drinks and emails don't mix.

I need answers to a few questions that might be asked when you are going for an interview for manegerial post.

1. What is the role of a manager?
2. When you compare yourself with the other managers around what do you find lacking in yourself?
3. Where are your long term goals?

I know i am the best persopn to answer it. But if you can share what answers would you give, I might just take away something from it.

Thank you for the response!!

I have always heard that it is better to quit without notice than to get fired. How much truth is in that?

I have always thought that a neat job would be to be a comsumer tester of vehicles for a company like Chevrolet, Ford or Hyundai. Kind a tester of vehicles from a consumer viewpoint rather than a trained professional. Does anyone know if such a job even exists?

I was offered a job today making $10,000 more a year than what I am currently making, the dilemma i am facing is that company needs me to start immediately, possibly this Monday. This leaves me with no time to put in my two weeks notice. I have never left a job on bad terms and if i was to quit with no advance notice it would leave my current job in a great strain, since we are currently short-handed. I would hate to miss out on a great oppurtunity if i turn down this offer, but then again I would hate to leave my current job in such a mess. Any suggestions?

OK, I had some mis-spells....and I usually use spell check. In answer to "Ruined's" question....YES, I am sure I will need to incorporate proper spelling in my new job. How embarrasing! But hey.... aren't there certain words that you sometimes "trip" over and spell incorrectly??

I now have an extreamly stressful, demanding job that is driving me nuts! Fortunately, I just had an interview for a much better job all the way around, and have a 2nd interview on Monday. I could care less if I go back to the "hell hole", and I have had my vacation long planned for this upcoming week, months before this interview. If I find out on Monday I get the job, I can start a week from Tuesday. Can my boss denie me my vacation pay if I leave the job I have now after vacation to start the new job? He knows I had the interview, and I am not happy there. He told me, in a sincere manor, not to worry about a two week notice if I do get the position. I don't know if it is actually a law that employers are obligated to pay the vacation pay, even if the employee may want to use it as part of their notice.

On job application or resume, how much can you omit or embellish on your employment history? Does this matter less or more when seeking employment from difference sources such as private/educational/government (fed/state/county/coty) agencies? Are they more likley to find out that you lied on job application in the government and higher up the government? Have you seen anyone get charged with perjury for lying on job application?
