Okay. I have a great boss who has been fairly supportive. Friday he calls me in a meeting & says he has to write me up for attitude in an email with another employee. Fine. Not a problem. Apparently, this employee has complained to her boss & has complained to my bosses boss. My boss says that I should start getting my resume out, because he can't control what his boss can do. He can only "bat for me for so much". I'm a great worker, and I'm not making excuses. We all have a bad day, or a lazy employee who refuses to respond to emails so you get tired of it & you make it known because you want your work to be done. Anyway....long story short...what's going on? Is this something I should really be concerned about? Are they looking to lay off someone, and this is a reason to fire instead of lay off? I've been there over a year, and have had some positive chages occur from some of the things I've done. If I put my resume out, what do I tell potential employees? Please...no battering..

This is not for me...for a friend...I have my own employment questions I have posted & will be posting later...so please don't be confused by them.
He's going to see HR today & would like to negotiate a higher pay rate. How should he go about doing that...what's the "normal" increase from temporary to permanent?
Thanks!
PS*** I asked this yesterday, and I think peole thought he meant he was on his probation period already hired with the job. He is NOT. He is working as a temporary, getting hired on.

Can a person, working in a totally different field, expect an entry into the world of ERP (SAP ) , if he does his training in SAP ? Siemens is quite expensive and also, it doesn't guarantee a job..Does a training from Siemens help in getting the required certification from SAP ( the exam that one has to pass in order to become a valid SAP consultant) What to do in this case? What about the referrals?

Mine is people who go to work, get paid, and do nothing more than sit around playing games all day and surfing the net. AARGH! I can't find a decent job when I'm very willing to work hard and NOT be irresponsible! This really pisses me off!

I've seen everywhere, on road signs, train stations, bus stops... signs which say "Call XXX to earn £500-£1000 per month part time". Obviously a lot of these are going to be scams, but I was wondering if anyone has actually called one of these adverts, and if so did you actually earn anything?

I was wondering if you must have a resume to apply for a position, or does it just give the 'employer' something to judge you on, before they give you a chance.

I have always been in love with tattoo's and art, I have been employed as a graphic designer for the past 7 years but would love to fullfill my dream of becoming a tattoo artist, as I could think of no greater compliment than someone wanting to wear your artwork for the rest of thier lives... I have done some tattoo designs for friends, that have inturn taken my pic to a studio and had it inked, which is pretty flattering, But I want to be the inker!.. I live in western australia and unfortunatly every tattoo studio I have inquired with are "bikie affiliated" so they aren't looking to take anyone on that they don't know - its more of who you know in this industry I assume!! Is there any schools, or courses in OZ that teach some tattooing so I can have a small amount of experience, hopefully giving me a chance to get a foot in the door?? Also I heard most apprenticships in tattooing are unpaid?? is this true?? surely you must make minimum wage atleast?? I have to be able to live...

I have applied and interviewed for good paying and good jobs and they hint to me that i am over qualified for the position. so i try for even higher-up postion and they tell me i dont have enough education, soo i have applied for a low-position entry job and they look at me like im nuts because i have owned my own company in the past, yet had to reenter the work force for other reasons and wont hire me, what is the problem. i cant seeem to find an in between, have you been there? I just want a decent job that pays something but doesnt necessarily make me millions. It seems im either too qualified or not enough, how do i find a middle ground?, no I dont want to go back to college.
