It would look professional if you would make a resume, it gives you an advantage over others not as qualified for the job, and yes they can judge you by your resume so make it look good.

As an employer it is vital for you to have a CV (curriculum vitae - Latin for 'life story') or resume. This gives employers a brief background and lets them decide whether you are right for the job.
It is amazing how many people apply for jobs they have no suitability for and just need the work. The other thing about a resume is it also says a lot about you. For example:
Attention to detail - spelling, layout / design
How long you have been in roles for
What types or trends you seem to follow (or not)
A willingness to learn
What your attributes are
If have not put one together before then I suggest you get help with the content and layout as this will affect whether you get in front of an employer and 'sell yourself' to them.
I have attached a couple of web sites to help you get started.
Good Luck.

If your applying for your first job (which it sounds like you are ) and you don't have a resume, the boss may think you haven't given your job search much thought or preparation, which reflects poorly on you.
Even if you don't have work experience , your resume can summarize education, volunteer work, etc.
I hire people, and we do use resumes to weed people out: we could never interview everyone that applies. However, if I happen to be in the office when you bring the resume and you make a good impression , that counts for more.

It would be a good idea...
Potential employers need to have a reason for inviting you for an interview.

Yes -- it is silly to waste both your time and the person interviewing you if you don't have one
