I have applied and interviewed for good paying and good jobs and they hint to me that i am over qualified for the position. so i try for even higher-up postion and they tell me i dont have enough education, soo i have applied for a low-position entry job and they look at me like im nuts because i have owned my own company in the past, yet had to reenter the work force for other reasons and wont hire me, what is the problem. i cant seeem to find an in between, have you been there? I just want a decent job that pays something but doesnt necessarily make me millions. It seems im either too qualified or not enough, how do i find a middle ground?, no I dont want to go back to college.

What is your qualification presently which is considered as over than requirement at some places and under the requirement in other places? You should approach one of those placement cos., to find out the level of job you will fit in.

Are you using a chronological format resume? You might be better served using a resume format that highlights your specific skills, rather than job titles - it's called a 'functional' resume, and you would list your job-related skills first, in order of relevance to the position you are applying to, and then lists work history underneath. This way, prospective employers can evaluate you on your qualifications, and not be immediately put off by titles.

You can do an internet search for resume samples to see some examples of what this would look like.

Best of luck.
