I am not against people speaking other languages...
In fact, I'm going to have to start learning a few more myself -

But really, it's getting ridiculous in South Florida where I live... the working class does not speak English down here... but the customers all do...

at least that's how it seems...

what gives?

I have an interview for a full time contract position which won't last more than 2 to 3 months. It involves translating documents. During the interview, will they also go into in depth questions such as what are my strengths, weaknesses, fears, etc... Or will it just be a meeting regarding what the position entitles and why I want to do it? Anything will help. Thank you!! =)

I'm just curious how TOP SECRET places like the Pentagon or CIA or NSA hire menial labor. Do the janitors have to go through the same TOP SECRET security clearances that all the operatives do? Think about it.....they have access to EVERY ROOM at the Pentagon! You don't think Donald Rumsfeld cleans his own office, do you?! Do you think these janitors make higher salaries than the average janitor?
Do you think people just say one day "hey, I think I'll apply to be a janitor at the CIA"?

I'm unemployed and looking for a job again for the first time in 6 years. The job I have now never asked me if I had a criminal record so I got lucky I guess. I was convicted of recklessly endangering safety in '97 which is a felony.

I got hired by an accounting firm. I was supposed to start work in July. I asked for an extension so that I could study for the CPA exam. The firm gave me the time off I requested. Now, I start in October, and I realize that I still NEED more time to study...I am afraid to ask for another extension of time off because they might get tired and fire me, even before I start. They were already very generous with giving me the extension of time off. Studying for the CPA exam will be harder with my work obligation on top of that...It is very time consuming...I want to start work with a clear mind thinking I passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam before I start....any suggestions for me?

As in they hire people without experience, train them and then these people work for them. I am looking for a job and I am in college. All companies have checked want atleast one year or six months experience.

I can work only when there is a deadline. As the deadline comes nearer, I somehow feel like doing. For ones without a deadline, I started writing something in Feb, and I can not finish it. It probably takes only a few days to finish. I keep coming up with one excuse after next. Can you tell me something that makes me feel like doing.

I already know that threatening, sarcasm or any negative approaches do not work for me. It acutally undercuts my enthusiasm. So do not even try.
