The first thing you need to make sure is that you have an updated CV. Do some research first on the Internet, and check out good CV formats. Believe me, it can make a world of difference. And make sure your cv is short, to the point, but still manages to show all the important information.

Think about your strengths, and qualifications. What kind of job would you prefer? And what you would be suitable for?

After that, your best bet is to register with several employement agencies within your area. They have a higher chance of finding a suitable job for you, and quicker, because they have contacts. Also, a lot of big corporations only hire people through their contracted agencies, so you would miss out on those jobs otherwise.

Also make sure to check the job section in your local paper everyday.

Then of course there are some standard places on the Internet, like www.monster.co.uk and www.fish4jobs.co.uk

Hope it helps. And good luck with job hunting :)

You should try your local Veteran's Hospital or clinic, or perhaps a nursing home for an administrative position or try the local school board if you don't wish to travel. Is there a factory district in your area, and last but not least a GS position with the military. That's a civil service job. Have you tried the post office or Digital Coporation? I gotta million job ideas!!
