First, Minimum Wage is a LAW. If they weren't paying you at least minimum wage, they broke the law. Report them.
Second, just go in and smile. Be frank. If they ask how your doing, answer in one word, 'fine' and leave it at that. Say as little as possible. If they were paying you less than minimum wage, and they start talking their own BS, advise them of the law about minimum wage and after getting your check, let em know you plan on reporting them.
Finally, if your really uncomfortable about going, bring a friend to sit with you in the 'lobby' area where you wait for them to bring you your check. Don't go into the business anywhere, if they have to have your signature, tell them to bring the book or whatever you have to sign out to the lobby for you.

First of all don't be nervous. I know it'll be hard, but don't sweat the small stuff. READ the paperwork completely before you sign it an make sure you understand it. If not ask questions. DO explain your reason for leaving and apologize for not giving a 2 week notice though. It will make you look more adult, and possibly earn you "brownie points" if you put them on your resume or as a reference. If not, still, don't be nervous, still READ the paperwork, and get your check. Smile on the way out. If you don't get your paycheck, call the Labor Board in your area, or Wage and Hour. Good luck!! Don't be nervous!!!

If you need the money - call first and make sure your check is there. Make sure someone will be available to give it to you.
When you get there, just go in and don't worry about it. They will more than likely not care one way or another. A supervisor will have more things to worry about.
Just sign for your check. Say thank you (even if you're not thankful - just say it anyway) and leave without a scene or an attitude. If they say anything, just be civil and say another opportunity came around and leave it at that.
Don't worry too much about it. Once it's done, you'll forget all about those ppl!

First of all why would you allow someone to pay you below minumum wage? It is illegal and you should report them immediately and maybe you can get the money that they owe you from your documented work hours (like if you worked 500 hours total for that company they owe you the difference between what they paid you and minimum wage).
Anyways, who cares what they say to you. Go get your check before it expires or they say you waited too long. If they say anything to you just tell them to give you the check and then after you have it in your hand tell them you are reporting them for the wage violation and can't wait to get your next "check" and walk out.

Walk in boldly. So what if they say anything? They owe you money and are legally required to give it to you within a certain amount of time. Most likely they just want you to fill out the termination paperwork. Remember, you don't work for these people anymore, so who cares what they think. Take the money and run!

It's your money and you worked for it. You deserve it. That happened to me one time. I quit cause the manager was a filthy old dirt bag, but I went in with my cell phone and the knowledge that if they tried any stunts like not giving me my paycheck, I'd call the Health department.

Call first, that way they will have time to figure out how to react to you and can have your check ready. It sounds like they don't want to spend any extra time with you either. Make it easy on both of you. If any discussion comes up, just be calm and say, I'm sure we can agree that neither of us handled the situation as best as we could have, but I wish you no ill will. Just smooth it over to get your check and get out of there quickly.

Just hold your head high, and know that you are better off without that job! Still, it's never a good idea to quit without giving notice. They may have deserved it, but you are only hurting yourself, because they will give you a very bad reference.
Hope this helps!

Go in and get your check. You worked for it you earned it!
I know I quit when they stuck me washing dishes the day after Thanksgiving when they were supposed to keep me as bus boy.
I walked out on them then walked back in, don't be nervous.
