I am not against people speaking other languages...
In fact, I'm going to have to start learning a few more myself -

But really, it's getting ridiculous in South Florida where I live... the working class does not speak English down here... but the customers all do...

at least that's how it seems...

what gives?

i guess your going through one of your rough time dealing with others cultures that cant speak that proper english. Good luck with your future adventures.

This country was build by being a melting pot of many cultures and customs.

However, today - a lot of people coming into this country do not want to have to learn the one basic language that is the legal language here. Yes, if we go to some other country to visit, it would be nice if we could speak a little of their language.

I for one feel that eveyone who comes here to live, should learn to speak English, even if it is broken English, to be allowed to say and work here.

I agree. If someone is in a communication job, they need to be able to communicate.

But it seems to be specific to in-country service. Outsourced jobs seem to hire people with good skills in English, especially those in India.
