This job is interviewing me for three different depts at different dates and times. How can I get them to speed up the process? One dept I don't care for at all and would rather skip it if it will speed up time. One I really want but the hours don't work, how can I re negotiate hours? How can I make the employer spped up b/c I have to take time off of current job. I went to a scheduled interview yesterday and they cancelled as I got there. I want to give 2 week notice to other employer but I cannot afford to be off. New job has mandatory oreintation that is a week long and I need to get through it before classes start in August. Also,I have eight years of experience at their competitor (who is better) how can I negotiate for more money than the basic shift diff,or weekend diff. This isa health care position.

I am a self-employed IT consultant. I am not incorporated. Normally, for each employment period, you would put down company name, location, time period, and job title. What would you use for company name in this case?

I am interested in going back to school to get my Masters in Bussines. The school I received my BS degree at makes it easy for me to transition into the Masters Program? Is this wise or does it make a real difference to go to another school?

My supervisor has told my co-workers that my manager has asked him to set me up and since then I have been writen up by him three times in three days. He twists the truth so that he can say that I am not doing my job and writing me up for things that no one else would be written up for. He is openly disrespectfull to me and constataly tries to provoke me with words. Myself and everyone I work with sees me being pruseacuted and feel it is horriablily wrong, but I feel helpless to prevent it. I have already went to our H.R. department but they seem to put it mildly, uncareing. P.S., I resently resigned my postition of supervisor in order to attend school and the person directly harrassing me is the person that replaced me. I am not a disgruntled employee with some agenda, I just wanted the freedom in my schdule to be able to attend school and I feel I am being unfairly punished for stepping down. Please, any advice would be welcome.

I recently left a great work enviorment where I knew everyone to work at my towns hospital which I thought it was going to be a real treat. The position I hold is a housekeeper..Talk about awful..I went to this job for the last 2 days realizing that this job may not be for me.My new coworkers are a treat to work with. There language is inappropriate for that kind of setting. My mother in law is a nurse and she works in the same hospital and I told her how my days was going. She suggested I try to hang on to this job and ignore my coworkers. If I do,I will never get a chance to know them but I also dont want to be involved with the "drama" that they talk about as some of it is not pretty and I was told to "advoid" 5 coworkers as they like to " go back and nark on you if you do something wrong"
I told my husband I couldn't handle this job but he insisted I should stay and on my days off to look for something else.Should I quit and leave my husband and I in a financial situation or wait?

Give an example where you are able to persuade others to do something, etc. Write about anything u can think of which is related. I need some idea on how to answer such question during job interview. I might pick out something useful from your answers.

You know those questions about your character? I always choke on those. I just don't know what words to use, I guess. I've got a big job interview comming up and I'd like some pointers, it can be totally fictional. These are the questions I'd like good answers to:
Tell me about a time you were challegned, how did you handle yourself?
When someone is out of line and there's not a manager around, how would you handle it?
Why did you leave your last job? (I can't ever think of anything that can't be twisted around to sound badly)
And just anything like that. Also, if you can think of other questions they may ask, that would be appreciated.

Right now I'm working like 15 minutes from home. My mom lives er route to my job, so i drop my son off with her on the way. So, needless to say, it's convenient. My job pays pretty well for a local job... BUT IT'S BORING AS HELL. My day sometimes drags along. I like to be busy all day, so that my day goes by quicker. Which is not so bad, since I start school in the fall & I could use the down time. I've been considering looking around to see what else is out there. My mom says that's stupid as hell. What do u guys think?

I am in California, my former employer has not paid me commission check. I didn't know it was due 72 hours after I had quit. Its usually paid on the 15th of the following month, so I waited. Its now several weeks later and still no check. (I know they are doing this on purpose) Should I contact my employer before filing a wage claim with the labor board? Or should I do both?

I am in California. My company basically screwed. I was transitioning from being a manager back to part time status, but was still managing until the end of the month. My employer tells me to refer any issues to the training manager, so I asked will I get commission up until that date. I find out they took away my commission already while I was still managing without consulting me. I resigned right away feeling like they treated me very poorly. Do I qualify for unemployment insurance? Knowing my employer, they will end up saying something nasty so I'm a bit skeptical anyways.

I fell misrable. My boss is a horrible person. He insults people who are working under his authority because he knows they cannot quit. Lately he wanted to punish me for a silly mistake. I went to his office to apologize. I hate what I did. He likes others to be weak so that he feels better. He even likes to see them cry. I played the role of the weak person so that he will not punish me, I humiliated my self. God, I hate what I did, but I had to. I feel terrible now. What should I do?
N.B: Everyword I said is true.

For me the answers for both questions are the same. My job's pretty easy, but this can make it boring sometimes. If you're currently 'between jobs' as I like to put it, tell me about ONE job you had and what you liked and disliked about it.
