My wife and I are considering relocating to the Fayetteville/Springdale, AR area(s), and I'd like to remain the retail field. I've managed entertainment stores for the last 6 years, but would also consider maybe selling insurance or whatever. It'd be great if any of you have any tips, or even better if you have any direct connections and could help me locate a good position. Thanks in advance, all.

I am seen as "negative" by my manager. He can't understand that what I'm feeling is frustration due to his poor management style.

He is such an idiot. He says ridiculous things all the time. I can barely disguise my dislike of him.

How do I work a whole months notice without blowing up?

A discount supercenter actually. There's this lady that's a total bi**ch. She loves intimidating people to the point of making them cry in front of customers. I know a lot of people quitting because of her. How can she get away with all that. The store or the company won't do sh**. She can't continue this it's not fair for people wanting to earn a living.

I was hired to answer phones. After some time I was given more projects, and I did very well. But now I have completed these projects, and the phone does not ring very often. They let me use the computer to pass time. I get paid good, but I'm so bored. I go around asking if there is anything I can do, but there isn't. I'm afraid they really don't need me, but they say they do. I almost want to get another job, because I'm so bored. What to do?

Hi all!
I'm in the process of looking for a job. My husband has been deployed to Iraq since Jan. & is coming home in about a week. We're stationed across the country from my family, he & I decided that since he would be making extra $, I was going to attend college to get my second degree full time & travel instead of work.

I did have a job in Dec. before I left, & was actually planning on staying there part time until he deployed & I knew what my travel plans were. My boss was very mean & condescending to myself, my husband & our situation b/c she does not support the military. I struggled with her for about 4 months, & then decided to leave. I literally stuck the key & a letter (stating I was not going to work for her anymore due to personal and professional differences) in an envelope, slipped it under the door one night & never went back.

Should I include this job on my resume even though I didn't give 2 weeks notice & had issues with my boss? Thanks

The owner of our business doesn't come in very often, but he calls us from home and complains about everything that culd go wrong, even if it hasn't happened yet. He does this several times a day and it's worse when he has been drinking. He wastes a couple hours per day of peoples' time by doing this. Is there some tactful way to tell him to get off the sauce and let his business operate?

About 2 weeks ago I sent out my resume for a job I really want. That same day we had a storm come through that knocked out power for almost a week in some places. I want to find out if they recieved my resume. Should I call? I don't want to call and look like a dumba$$ if they did get it and weren't interested in me. What should I do?

I interviewed for a Program Manager position in broadcasting. I sent thank you notes to everyone who interviewed me over the phone. I now see that the job has been reposted. Should I send another note to the people who interviewed me to boost my chances of another interview or should I just sit and wait?

Serious answers only.

If you were the General Manager of a 63-room motel that pulls in revenue of about $550,000 per year, you were responsible for hiring both front desk and housekeeping, were on call 24/7 and responsbile for covering any shifts where the clerk called off, had to order supplies and do about 25 different reports a month how much would you expect as a fair salary.

Also asume you have been doing that job for 2.5 years. What weekly salary would you expect?

Executives in the largest companies now receive only around 20% of their renumeration from a salary with the rest made up of 'short and long term performance incentives' and linked to annual bonuses. My pension is now a defined contribution scheme where the risk of benefit shortfall is borne by me and not by my company. Their investment plans do not include an investment in staff loyalty as I might be made redundant soon under the new CEO's plan. We can't all be be high-fliers but we should expect some consideration, we are not items on the balance sheet.
