You don't have to cut your hair to get an office/federal job but be prepared to restrain it in a professional manner just as women who have long hair are expected to do.
First decide what you want to do and then target industries in the yellow pages that you believe would have that sort of job. Call and ask to speak with HR and then tell the person "HI, my name is ______ and I'm looking for a position in _______ . Do you have any job openings in that department." If the answer is yes, ask if you can stop by with a copy of your resume - if no, ask if they keep resumes on file. This will also act as good practice in your post college job hunt.

try monster job com or job com, unemployment office , classified ads, Make a good resume. Long hair wouldn' be a prob if pulled back and tied up in a ponytail. Some jobs esp banks and federal jobs require short hair. You have to set your priorities Which is more impt your hair or the job? Did you try getting a student loan to pay for college for better qualifications. Thats' why a college degree is very, very impt for a career. And it's never too,;given your motivation, goals and aspirations and efforts.

"I want a job, but I don't want to cut my hair"
sometimes you have to do what it takes in life. If you won't cut your hair to get the job you want, and wont take a job where long hair is OK, you clearly don't really want a job, and you should stop pretending to look.
