I recently left a great work enviorment where I knew everyone to work at my towns hospital which I thought it was going to be a real treat. The position I hold is a housekeeper..Talk about awful..I went to this job for the last 2 days realizing that this job may not be for me.My new coworkers are a treat to work with. There language is inappropriate for that kind of setting. My mother in law is a nurse and she works in the same hospital and I told her how my days was going. She suggested I try to hang on to this job and ignore my coworkers. If I do,I will never get a chance to know them but I also dont want to be involved with the "drama" that they talk about as some of it is not pretty and I was told to "advoid" 5 coworkers as they like to " go back and nark on you if you do something wrong"
I told my husband I couldn't handle this job but he insisted I should stay and on my days off to look for something else.Should I quit and leave my husband and I in a financial situation or wait?

People often do things they don't want to be doing because of the money or other benefits. It is a sacrifice to do this; you desensitise yourself to the day-to-day aggravations and "look forward" to retirement. At the proverbial "end of the day" however, you have spent a very big chunk of your life pursuing your occupation. In my opinion, being happy at what you are doing day-to-day is more important than sacrificing the prime years of your life doing something you hate.

Still, it is not a good idea to just quit a job without something else on the table. My advice is to look diligently for a job you can be happy with, but stick with your current job until you find one.

Good luck to you!

WOW! I really don't know what to say, but here I go...I work at Save-on-Foods. It is horrible, and I have asked a question on this samething" should I quit". Now I don't have bills to pay or anything like that, but I have to work with complete idiots and the use bad language and are dumb. And my boss insults my home country(Japan) and everyone is soo stupid. I hate it I have to cook and remember all these recipies and it is very difficult. I stay at my job because I need money to return home. People have told me to look for another job while I worked at the store now.

Anyway the point I am trying to make is you need to maybe look for another job while working at this recent one. Or put up with it. Trust me it is so tough, and I feel your pain.

That is all the advise I have now, please have good luck with your job, I wish I could help you out more, sorry. Please forgive.

I wish you the best(sorry for talking to much about me)
Bye

If you can afford to be qithout a job for a month or two, sure go ahead, but start a search for a new job immediately. A bad job can literally affect your entire life, and can easily build up a major amount of stress before you can even realize it. I left a job a year ago that made me so sick that I would vomit every time I ate. I finally left when my doctor told me to leave the job or die young. Best decision I ever made.

if you can stick it out, I think you should take your husband's advice and look for a new job on your days off. Is there any chance you could have your old job back? Or talk to your new supervisor about switching departments at the hospital?

It's up to you, but generally it's best to wait until you have something else lined up first. You're way better off working somewhere that you enjoy what you do and the company you keep. But I'd wait until I had something else lined up before I quit.

Do you have one to replace it? If you do and it's a better job, I say go for it.

Getting another housekeeping job is simple. Go to any hotel or motel and tell them you can do the job. You stand a 100% better chance if you tell them in Spanish...

As far as the co-worker problem, you see that at all jobs--it amazes me that you missed it at your previous one. I say stick it out- you may make friends, and the work that makes you sore now will make you in SHAPE eventually. Good luck!

I think you should stay and tough it out. Personally, I think you may need a little time to adjust to the different personalities and new environment. Good luck!
