Resume writing: what would you enter in the company name's field for independent consulting jobs?

I am a self-employed IT consultant. I am not incorporated. Normally, for each employment period, you would put down company name, location, time period, and job title. What would you use for company name in this case?

Put self employed and the dates on the resume, and make up a seperate client list with those dates and scope of your work. Note on the resume that the client list is available.
