Give an example where you have shown leadership qualities. Write extensively, whatever u like. I just want to get some idea on how to answer this kind of question during job interview. Thanks all.

christopher... i don't want to use other people's leadership for my interview. To better prepare myself, I want to see how people talk about leadership. Maybe some trait, some vocab, some style I can adopt which can make my own presentation more appealing. I know it's better to just be myself for the interview, but the 'myself' is someone who prepare and do homework, and that's what they r looking for.. someone who prepare and do their homework. anyway, I appreciate all your replies and helps.

just me,
u r right. I can't brag about what I did as a leader in the past to my prospective employer. I need to show them I have the ability to lead, preferably thru example of my past experience. however I've to be careful to not sound like bragging. which is why I'm seeking out how people would talk about leadership. hopefully thru it, I can find the subtle balance on how I should do it correctly.

Giving you examples of what a great leader I am would not help you at all. In fact it would show the non-leadership quality of bragging about accomplishments. However, here are a few thoughts on what makes a good leader.

A good leader is not afraid to follow when necessary.
A good leader will listen to all sides of an issue before making a decision.
A good leader does not force people to follow. They clear the path for others.
A good leader leads by example not through fear.
A good leader will stand behind his employees when warranted and reprimand them only in private.
A good leader will allow employees to make some decisions but knows where and when to draw the line.

There are so many other qualities of good leadership that I would never be able to write them all here.

Mainly to be a good leader you have to be able to put yourself in your employees shoes and treat them fairly and with kindness, but firmly.

Good luck on your interview. The very fact that you asked this question shows that you could be a good leader.

George Bush fighting to keep your head on your shoulders. Remember, there are people out there who follow a seventh-century religion which states that those who don't follow it are to be killed, specifically by the removal of the head of the non-believer with a sword or large knife.

No one else's examples of leadership can be used for your interview. If they could, the company would want to hire that person, not you. If you have never lead anyone, confess it. It is better to be honest in an interview because lies are too hard to remember unless you are Bill Clintoon. He's a master at telling lies, but we ain't be talkin' 'bout him. We be talkin' 'bout YOU!

What kind of job is it? Does it require leadership on the job on a daily basis? Leaders are responsible for those they lead. If a leader makes a mistake and people are hurt or killed, the leader takes the blame.

Good "leadership" in people who have never really done it can be said to be the ability to always show up for work on time, do the job to the best of your ability every day, be personable to your co-workers and never badmouth your company anywhere at any time. Become a model employee, make yourself a little more visible than your fellow employees by being a little bit "better" than they are in your job and in time, you will be asked if you want a leadership position. Many managers in companies come from the lower ranks because they have proved their loyalty and have roots with the company. It will take time, but it's a good investment in yourself.

A leader armed with the authority has to share with his subordinates known as delegation. Most of the leaders don't do it for fear of being overtaken by the subordinate. You shall delegate and you are certain that you have delegated your authority only and not responsibility. A successful leader has to understand that he has to get the best out of everyone under his control and for this he must be a master in delegating and should fully be conversant with authority/responsibility relationships.
