Does anyone ever get sick of sitting at a computer doing work and never doing any manual labor? Some times as I walk into work I see the guy operating the big construction crane and wish I could do that. Or I see the guy mowing the lawn and wish I could sit on a tractor all day listening to music and day dreaming. I have a good job that most people would love to do, but think I must be crazy when I would rather mow the lawn sometimes. Anyone else have that?

I have an original invention, but I haven't made it. Instead, I've written it down on paper, working out the problems. I want to send it in, instead of making it.

I am a mother of two and I also babysit my nephew during the week. I am looking for something I can do at home maybe from my computer that doesn't have a HUGE start-up fee. Any suggestions? I am seriously interested in helping people and generating some additional income. Any of your ideas will help. I recently was working a regular job outside the home but I am now home with my kids. Thanks a bunch!

I started just over one month ago at a fine jewelry store. I'm trying my hardest, but I just don't think I'm doing a great job and I don't like it there. I've got two months left before my probational period after being hired is up. I think the only reason they would keep me is because the store is understaffed. (5 people) I just updated my resume on Monster last night and this morning I've alredy gotten FOUR calls from it. Should I call them back and interview with them?

on average about half of the time that i am in the office from 9 to 5.
so i average working about 4 hours a day. i spend the other half of the day playing around on the internet, emailing friends, on myspace, researching stuff that interests me online on sites like wikipedia, etc. etc. i realize it is strange that i am making 100k for so little work. i think that i probably should go somewhere else with better opportunity for advancement and try and make several hundred thousand dollars. am i being a slacker for staying at the current job? i really enjoy the free time at work. i am currently at a wall street type job.

The truth is, there were some shady things about the business. I worked there for 2 years during high school and college and didn't feel comfortable continuing. I quit and said something like "I don't want to drive that far anymore."

Should I leave it off the application completely? Will my potential employer call my past employer to verify the reason I left?

I just got a new job at a vending company, they told me that I have a 90 day probation period. The company pays for the physical and the drug test ($180). They told me if I quit the job before the 90 days then I might have to pay this back. I only got this job because I need enough money to get a ticket to go be with my husband who is in another country. If I have a good excuse to quiting before this time, I won't have to pay the money back. Whats a good excuse?
