My app. was acknowledged-so it was received. The postcard stated "we are evaluating your qualifications for this position". This was approximately one week ago. Nothing since.

it's acceptable. plus it shows them that you truly are interested. just dont over do it. once a week or once every two or three days if you don't hear from them.

Yes, by all means. It shows that you want the job and just weren't putting in an application. It is especially important when you are applying to a chain store or other position, or when an internet application was filled out.

The company that handles many online applications is very bad about loosing applications and I've actually filled complaints with the Washington State Attorney General.

By all means, follow up on your application, but if they just got it, give them a few days. Be zealous, but not overzealous.

Depends on the company. I think perhaps it is fine and mostly perferrable. When I was in charge of retail positions hiring, I gave more weight to those who seemed both persistant in letting me know they desired the job AND intelligent in expressing their desire for the particular position. Still, the resume and interview was the most deciding factors.

I always call after I submit an application. Nothing wrong there unless they specifically said no calls or inquiries. I wouldn't have the job I have now if I wouldn't have called to ask if they reviewed my app. It shows iinterest.

Definitely, check on the status of the application. It shows you are serious about wanting the job. It also puts your name in the minds of the selectors.

I'm sorry to tell you.....but that letter nearly always really means
"Thanks, but we're not interested".

I hope your job search works out. I took hundreds of rejections before I gave up and went back to college and trained for a job that I now love.

i think a call at this juncture would be a waste of everyones time. after youve been contacted it is fine to call and inquire it shows your continued interest and you may be able to add to the info they have on you.
