so i had 2 interviews for a job to work as a cashier they told me they were going to call me within 7-10 days or i was going to receive a letter in the mail for sure. DOes that gurantee me the job?.

If they send you a written job offer, you quit your existing job, and then they tell you you don't have the job, you can file a lawsuit.

But even after you receive that letter, you have not been hired until you've got your feet under the desk and you're filling out your W2's.

No, the letter could say, "Sorry, we have chosen another candidate."

No job is guaranteed. The company could go out of business, the manager may need to go away on an emergency and delay the decision, etc.

You do not have the job until they call you with an offer of employment. If you were going to get the job they would have told you already!

No. Always do your own followup. Give them a quick call or drop them a nice note thanking them for their time in interviewing them. Good luck!

Nothing guarantees you the job until they say "you're hired", you show up, and you fill out paperwork!
