I am a mother of two and I also babysit my nephew during the week. I am looking for something I can do at home maybe from my computer that doesn't have a HUGE start-up fee. Any suggestions? I am seriously interested in helping people and generating some additional income. Any of your ideas will help. I recently was working a regular job outside the home but I am now home with my kids. Thanks a bunch!

I have been in the daycare/babysitting business for more than 3 years and I am really burned out on that. Gotta try something else. Thanks for all your answers.

Take a look at how I do my psychic business from home.

Then see if you can fit something similar around your own area of expertise. (About $300 will get you started.)

Then all you need is a passion, some persistence, and you know that old fashioned word - w.o.r.k. http://www.psychic-junkie.com/are-you-psychic.html

None of these require much start up fee except education:

Daycare center
Make specialty items like soaps or jellies
Resell items on ebay (easy to do but hard to find a new higher profit type of thing to sell)
Any accounting background? Get your CPA license.
Any writing experience? Do freelance writing for magazines and newspapers.
Do alterations/seamstress work. Make costumes, rennfaire outfits, etc

Or just think hard about what your local community needs & start a small business.

With a computer at home and internet connection, you can start earning from home, without any investment. You should choose your work at home job according to your skills and time available.
If you have a good typing speed, general and legal transcription jobs from companies like Mountain West, Tigerfish and Accutran are available. Some of these companies do not require any experience.
You can apply directly from their websites which are listed at

Medical transcription work at home is also available if you have completed a course and have relevant experience.

I have been working from home with a great company that has been in business for a little over twenty years and have been members in good standing with the BBB ever since they opened their doors. They were also awarded the BBB's Hall of Fame award at the end of 2005. I don't have to host parties, stock, sell or deliver products. I don't even have to worry about collecting any money. There's thousands of good jobs from home.

But you'll have to look through a lot of offers before finding out what is good for you.

hint : Sometimes on "real jobs" sites, you'll find some jobs from home.

The best way to start earning money from home is putting online a website - may be a Blog - and keeping posting cool things, thoughts, videos, pictures, poetry - ANYTHING ! If the content is rich and original, you'll get visitors and they'll click your ads.

adSense (Google) is great http://index-go.com/google-services/google-adsense.asp

after opening an adSense account, open a Blogger one (http://blogspot.com )

BurnLounge--have your own personalized online music store. Invite family, friends or anyone to browse, sample and buy music. I have a store at http://burnlounge.com/mlbliss and I enjoy doing this!!

BurnLounge is a fantastic new deal on the internet! They just started in November 2005 and have grown quite rapidly since. They have music sites now, but will be adding ringtones, movies, DVDs, video games, concert tickets, audio books and other things later.

They also allow new (or old) musicians the opportunity to distribute their music with them. And last but not least, they offer people the opportunity to have their own online music stores. BurnLounge is contracted with the top 4 music marketing labels, which makes everything they have online LEGAL to download.

If you would like more information, please feel free to send me an email and I will do what I can to help you.

My site is http://burnlounge.com/mlbliss and you can also research them at http://corp.burnlounge.com and http://help.burnlounge.com

Try SurveySavvy , it's free to sign up and you get paid to take surveys. I'm a member and it offers you a great opportunity to make a difference and earn money at the same time by taking research surveys online ~ I made $20.00 on my first survey and you also get paid for any survey your referrals take (the more referrals you get, the more money it's possible to make!!!)

P.S. They are a member of the Better Business Bureau!!

survey sites sound ideal for you because you can stop in the middle and start up again whenever you are done caring for a child. free signup, monthly checks or paypal deposit, very simple, $.50-$1.00 a survey, they take from 3 to 5 minutes, set up a seperate email for both these sites because you will get some spam. good luck

Hi dear..

I am a home mom like you... there are so many options you can try... like by selling the stuff you don't want to use like baby items furniture etc, u can buy stuff at a reasonable price and can sell at your price at ebay..

the other great option with no hassles is go to www.dollar4sure.com and check...i heard that its legitimate and easy for home moms.
