I've started my own cleaning service and I'm having a hard time getting the word out about it. I've printed up tons of flyers and have walked around my neighborhood putting them on doors (since its illegal to put anything in mailboxes), and I'm still not getting calls. Any quick, inexpensive ideas?

Do you believe there are really people on eBay earning a regular parttime or fulltime income, who do not own a store and are just ordinary schmucks like me?

I recently moved into a duplex. So far, I have had many problems.
1. Window shattered next to front door that was finally replaced one week later.
2. Toilets that run water. It was so-called repaired 1 and 1/2 week later after the first complaint and now runs more than before. It has been three weeks since the last complaint and nothing has happened yet.
3. Garbage disposal that collapsed.
4. And the final straw, rodents (5 in 24 hours). In which I asked about, among many other things, before I signed the lease and told I would not have a problem.
This list goes on and on.
After, one month and a few days, I desperately want out of my lease. If anyone knows what my legal rights are in the state of Texas, please let me know so that I can move as quickly as possible.

I have decided to start investing in the stock market, and have about $1000 that I can use for investing. I am up to date with the state of our economy and know a good amount about the stock market. Does anyone know what would be a good online service to use? I have heard that Scottrade is the cheapest, but does it fit the needs of someone like me? I plan on actively trading stocks, and using it a bit for short-term gains, not just long term, so I will be trading quite often. Will the commission fees catch up to me? Any help and advice would be great. Thanks.

Hi, I'm currently a waitress, been one for about a month. I've worked various other jobs and really miss them partly because the people I did work with pulled their weight did their work. I have enough college hours to substitute teach, however I do not like kids that well. On the flip side, my waitressing job, ironically the smell of food cooking in large quantities(a restauant or fast food), makes me gag. I really was in a bind and needed the money. Right now I'm still going to college and fixing to go online for my Bachelors so I can have a full time job. So if you were me, would you stick with the waitressing(btw pay = 6.50 an hour, I work 15 hours, and we split our tips, we average about $17 a night). Substitute around here($55-75 a day).

Some people owe staggering amounts.
When you owe over 3K on a credit card and only pay the minimum payment it would take 10 years to pay it off if you mever used it again.
I believe they should have the interest rate on them capped at 10% by the goverment.
They make enough profit as it is.

I don't have to pay for school, or rent, or gas. But is $700 a month enough to buy alcohol, weed, cigarettes, groceries, clothes and other random stuff like that? What do you think?

I'd especially like to know the average amount of money budgeted for food and house items (cleaning solutions, organizers, etc) but if you know the average for the other things, I'd like to know that also.

Thanks for your wonderful tips on how to approach a 3rd interview. I interviewed 3 times with this company and was recently asked to provide references. The HR recruiter advised the reference check was complete and that he is waiting to get a decision from the hiring manager and he looks forward to talking to me further. I am a nervous wreck. It's been several years since I went through this process and don't know what to expect.

I took a 30 year mortgage a few years ago. The original amount financed was about $66,000. I have come off with approx. 75,000 through a land sale. Is it possible to pay off the 66,000 or do I still face the total amount, which is about 176,000 (FOR 30 YEARS)?
