Been in a profitable business for 2 years. We have grown every year. Now it is time to grow.

Where can I find a venture capital broker?

I eventually am interested in opening my own businesses, but while I am young would like to gain experience with a company that does what I want to do. I am often looking at either real estate or a business and think about what I could do to make improvements. At the same time, I enjoy the organic foods/cosmetics industries and may be interested in working with a company that aquires or builds these types of businesses. Are there any conglomerates/investment firms that deal specifically with these industries?

23. A currency dealer has good credit and can borrow either $1,000,000 or €800,000 for one year. The one-year interest rate in the U.S. is i$ = 2% and in the euro zone the one-year interest rate is i€ = 6%. The spot exchange rate is $1.25 = €1.00 and the one-year forward exchange rate is $1.20 = €1.00. Show how to realize a certain profit via covered interest arbitrage.

A. Borrow $1,000,000 at 2%. Trade $1,000,000 for €800,000; invest at i€ = 6%; translate proceeds back at forward rate of $1.20 = €1.00, gross proceeds = $1,017,600.
B. Borrow €800,000 at i€ = 6%; translate to dollars at the spot, invest in the U.S. at i$ = 2% for one year; translate €848,000 back into euro at the forward rate of $1.20 = €1.00. Net profit $2,400.
C. Borrow €800,000 at i€ = 6%; translate to dollars at the spot, invest in the U.S. at i$ = 2% for one year; translate €850,000 back into euro at the forward rate of $1.20 = €1.00. Net profit €2,000.
D. Answers c) and b) are both correct

Doing some research on them and I see that their shares have went down a lot in the past year and they have a lot of insider trading, 20% of insider shares have been sold in the past year. I also see that they sold operations in the UK and are downsizing I guess? They also seem to be going around and managing their insurance expenses as they used to selfinsure then they switched to an actual insurance company and then they switched accounting. This stock overall just seems to have a lot of problems. As I said Im just doing research on it would love some pointers of what I should look for in the filings or any opinions overall.

Hi,
I currently do not work, the only income I get is 'interest' paid to my 6 month CD account. I shouldn't say 'income' because I don't plan to withdraw the money (just leave it in there).

But I have two questions regarding taxes and I need some help:

Question 1:
How does one file for taxes in situations like this? I mean, the only thing I can report is the $240 earned...that's all I have for the year (or is it YTD income?). Can I do this with the1040EZ form instead -- rather than paying a tax guy to do the job and end up with negative cash flow?

Question 2:
If I transfered the account into someone else's name, do I have to pay taxes on the $240 earned -- even though the money isn't a withdraw?

I am asking all this because my bank (Washington Mutual) doesn't seem to know how to answer any of these questions...and my "soon to be fired" tax guy never answer calls nor return messages and is nowhere to be found except in the months of Feb-Apr.

Please help!

Please help!
We're getting some work done on the house and the contractor said that they prefer cash installments (a total of three) as the method of payment and will bump down the price five percent if we pay in cash. If we do decide to take this route, how can we get a receipt to prove that we've paid (one receipt for each installment)? Is there any sort of legal stuff that we would need to do, or is a piece of paper with the amount paid and the contractor's signature suffice?

My buddy is involved in a lawsuit against the people he use to work with. Everything is finally moving along after he was doing all of the work and investigations and whatever else. The paralegal assigned to his case is an a** but was pulled off the case during the summer so she could study for the bar. The person they gave the case to was freakin' great but was there only for the summer. The other person has been put back on the case-- and I swear-- I am not a lawyer but this chick is a real lazy idiot who f***ed up the case by not doing her job why it's dragged on so long. Could he ask the attorney he don't want her with the reasons? And if he says she is the only one what happens then?
