We have a house in CA and it is imminent that our house will go for a foreclosure. My concern is that will we have to pay the balance after our house sells for a lesser amount ? I have heard from various realtors that we will not have to pay, while others are saying that we will have to pay. What's going to happen ? Please give me all the details.

Last year I paid $4420 in county taxes for my house, this year the bill came out to $5879 + $1400 in supplemental bill for an addition we did 2 years ago (legally). I think that is way more than anybody is paying in this street. Can I fight it, and where do I start??.

I have an *** as a boss, who is used to having a PA. He doesn`t have one in this role and he`s trying to force on me things that aren`t on my job description. I talked and talked several time about this and he implied i wasn`t flexible and that my job description doesn`t mean anything. If i want, he can change it so that it `reflects` the reality better. But i haven`t agreed to this job as Project Coordinator so that i can do his invoices, send personal gifts on his behalf, clean offices of fired personnel, etc.
I said that i wanted more money, but he just laughed. I talked to the HR, but nothing happened. I`ve been in this firm for only 6months, i am not sure if quitting would be good bef. 1year, but my `job` is really putting me down.
Any advice?

25 years ago:
Dad (F)-non-US citizen residing in UK
Mum (M)-non-US citizen residing in UK
Daughter (D)-non-US citizen residing in UK
Brother of M (BM)-non-US citizen residing in UK
Sister of M (SM)-potential US citizen, but definite US resident

F passes away and leaves inheritance to M and D. M earmarks £50K for D and places in bank account in Jersey, and signs over full control to BM and SM who will determine when D is ready to receive money (have notarised authorisation letter from 1985). M's name remains on the account but has absolutely NO authority-just a safety net in case BM/SM both pass away prior to distribution to D. D has no knowledge that account exists.

Account has not been touched. Only change in balance has been interest earned on principal.

Now:
M and D have since become US citizens residing in US. SM/BM are ready to hand over money. Money will go into US bank account held in the name of D/M.

Is SM, M, and/or D responsible for filing?

I am a over 40 male from a minority group. I was the only male in a department of less than 20 women (There was a strong anti male "Men are idiots" bias in general). I was placed in a position where I felt pressured to resign due to changes towards me and my work at an organization in the South. When I first got hired, I was told initially that I was a full time salaried employee (I signed an agreement to this effect). 11 months after this, I was told I was an hourly employee and that my conversion to be a salaried employee did not occur. I expressed my disappointment in this and said that I will clock in (as requested) for a month until they get the paperwork straightened out. Before the month is over, I'm hauled into my bosses office, told that I violated some Internet usage policy and that I will be terminated. Then, at this meeting, I was told that I would be terminated or I could resign. I then, with less than 15 minutes to think about this resigned.

Do I have a case?

My grandfather just passed away unexpectantly. He received a US Steel pension but that is about all we know.
He was 89. I am trying to research and help her determine any benefits left or how it works. I personally do not know much on pensions. Is there a set time on how long your allowed to get one? months/years of payments until it runs out? Does it just one day stop coming?
Thanks for any advise

Purchased a residential property with son in law and it was agreed verbally that on sale or one of us moving out that any increase in value would be split between us on basis of what each of us put in. No written agreement was signed. It works out that I had put in 5/6 and he1/6 on basis of capital put in and mortgage interest paid. He has now moved out and stopped paying the mortgage and I want to buy him out. He says he is entitled to 50% of the increase in value of the property. Who is correct and what do we do about settling this?

I just started at Old Navy and I was wondering about the employee discount...do you get your discount off the sale prices, or do you have to choose? I used to work at a store where you either had to take the sale price and no discount, or take the discount off the full price.

i live in an upstairs flat and the one below is for sale. i was thinking of putting in an offer but, as i believe prices will not rise much more and may even drop at some point, it seems to me that flat prices cannot rise as much(percentage wise) as house prices as they have limited value compared to houses, and therefore not as valuable. So do flats have limited value compared to houses??? WHAT DO YOU THINK , MISTER????

Since I'm going do another year could I wait until I'm completely finished to file and take care of the IRS or is it best to pay what I owe now and take care of next year when it comes?

I am looking for answers from LLC members with experience in this matter or answers from educated tax professionals.

Please don't tell me to look at irs.gov

I have a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and have passed the FE/EIT exam but, unfortunately, am in a region void of any industry or opportunity to use my degree to gain valuable work experience. With no real job prospects in sight, I was contemplating starting my own business to use the skills and experiences I have in a contract/consulting type service. Is a professional engineering license required to provide mechanical design and analysis services (part design, tool and fixture design, engineering and patent drawings, FEA, etc.)?
