Wow, every day you read the loonie has gone up again and again. I was reading yesterday that this is soon going to be bad for our economy if it keeps going that way. I kind of get why but is there someone out there than can explain it a little better?

Also I don't think all this rushing over the border is going to help our economy any either, and yet it's not fair how ridiculously high our prices are compared to south of the border. This is a big deal and I don't think it's good that it rises too much higher.

I've broken my leg and so can't work because I can't stand up for long which my job involves. I wanna leave that joint and go somewhere else, and I've been offered and interview next week. I don't think I'll be back at work.

Do you think it's ok to go for an interview, it's not as if I'm sick because I'm fine in myself, but I can't do my job, but would be able to sit down and talk!

So I made a large deposit in my account which appeared as an available balance the other morning. I made several purchases until my check card got turned down. I called the bank and they said they pulled the check because it's "pending verification." I asked if this meant the check was written by someone with insufficient funds, which I was told no. Does anyone know how long it takes for a check to be verified with this bank?

Why?

Will this also hurt my credit score significantly?

Also, can it ever go back up again?

This company, Juniper claims that it did so because I have too many new accounts open, and too much debt, which is BS at least on the debt part.

Are they afraid or something?

Anyways, I think this is completely rude, and shows absolutely NO faith in the customer. In anycase, they make money off of us, and a higher line means more money spent, and if anything they can make interest off of you.

SO, why the hell would they, if they had any brains, lower someone's limit?

That's showing a SERIOUS lack of trust.

Should I just close the account? THe limit is now at a pathetic $250, down from $1000. It's ridiculous, and this makes me lose respect in the company.

ALSO, I've actually paid in FULL about twice and was on good standing when this happened with them too.

Can other companies do this too, or does it vary?

This is just somewhat depressing.

I have noticed that some websites that offer free products (in this case software) through the mail charge a s/h fee which is understandable but sometimes, even though not a single penny is being paid for the "product" and just for s/h... I still get charged a sales tax. Is this ok practice for the company to charge sales tax on s/h when the invoice clearly states that the "product" is free?

The extra money paid to the lenders give nothing in return. They get a lot of money for nothing .It would be nice to know why this sort of thing is allowed to happen.

My partner is low paid and I'm at home with our baby son. We're really struggling.

We get tax credits every week, not a large amount as we had an "overpayment" last year and they are clawing some of it back, but what we get really helps.

If I was to find a part time job would it just reduce our tax credits even further? I mean even if I didn't tell them about the job they would find out when they do our end of year renewal next year wouldn't they? And then claw more back from us next year? How does this work?

Also if this affected our tax credits would I still get any help with childcare costs? Because in order to work at all I would need to put my son in childcare.

I would REALLY appreciate anyone w/ life insurance (or stubborn husband) experience!!!
I am 38 and my husband is 49. My husband is the sole income provider of our family.
Since our first child's birth, I have tried to discuss with him the importance of planning for our deaths. Our oldest son is 15, and he still refuses to have a Will drawn up. Also, he refuses to purchase term life insurance on us both in the proper amount according to our famincome.
He is normally a very thoughtful and extremely responsible person. I know his lack of planning is due to his inability to deal with his own mortality.
I have continued to express concerns re: our lack of planning for 15 years! I have approached it from every angle I can think of.
On my own, I have contacted insurers to get coverage for us both & pay from my own "rainy day fund". No one will write a life policy in any amount without 1st performing a physical.
How do I protect my family in this situation?

I worked as a seasonal worker in the USA with J1 visa in summers of 2005, 2006 and 2007. This year, I did not file for a tax return for 2006, because the amount is small and I posponed to file in 2008 for 2007 and 2006 simultaneously. Soon I have an immigrant visa interview at the US embassy. Would it be a problem that I have not filed for a tax return? I heard that filing is obligatory. Or I should file as soon as possible until the end of this year?

I want to get a good job in information technology. I already have a liberal arts bachelor's degree and an A.A. degree. I also have A+ certification, and am confident that if I study for the other tests like Network+ and MCSE that I can pass them. I currently have a tech position fixing computers so that I can build up my resume, but it is not what I would consider a well-paying job, especially when you compare it to other tech jobs. Do I need to go back to school to get a C.S. degree so that I can get a "real" job in the tech industry?
