I have health insurance totaling $65 per week. I think that's taken out BEFORE my gross income is taxed. I'm just trying to figure out if my employer is taking out enough taxes on me.

Good morning
I recently withdrew 89,000 from my 401k as a hardship w/d and paid tax as ordinary income plus 10% penalty. Fine. My company offers a pension plan that uses annual income to calculate payments. Since the 89,000 w/d was counted as ordinary income, I should be able to add it to my income in the current year (60,000 normal annual income) to come up with 149,000 in annual income for pension calculation in 2007. Comments? thank you very much for answers. Due to complexity of this topic, If possible pls cite US tax code or cases supporting your answer

I'm trying to guesstimate how much my federal income tax return might be. When using a tax estimator, it asks for the federal income tax amount withheld. Is FICA included in that?

In the late 1970s gold spiked over $800 , then imploded and traveled sideways around $300 for about 20 years .
The current escalation started in 2001 . . .
What was the cause of the 70s spike & implosion ?
What is the current cause of the spike ?
thanks

We are a young couple with a toddler renting in central NJ.
Someone told my husband it would be a GREAT idea for us to get a co-op in the Edison/Iselin area. That we could get one for 80-130k and live in it for a year and then rent it out for a profit...and buy our single family home in a good school district at that point. (But then we will no longer be "first time buyers".
Everyone I know has told me stay away from co-ops. And that if they go belly up, we'll be screwed.
Please give me any advice or personal stories you may have about co-ops.
Thanks.

Ive been told its common practice to weed these people out of getting corporate jobs. Most compamies also create a hostile environment to introverts. This despite the fact the introversion is an inherited trait (i.e, your born with it). Should something be done about this.
