If you increase your contribution to your 401k plan will you pay less a month for child support?

no.child support is based on state formulas according to the income of both spouses and is set by law.It has nothing to do with increasing your contribution and trying to reduce your net pay.It is based on the gross income of each person among other variables as well such as how much time you spend with your kid.Why don't you spend more time with your kid(s) and you would benefit from a closer relationship with the kid(s) and possibly reduce your child support obligation as well?

No, that wouldn't be taken into account. Your 401K contribution is what you do with some of the money that is NOT child support money.

Nice try, but no. The court looks at your income for determining child support, not where it is going.

No way. Don't be selfish. Your child needs money. How can a parent take money away from his/her own children?
