I dont think you need any special training??? but how do you get experience, what are they looking for in possible employees??

They are looking for very outgoing, persistent and persuasive people. Usually they will start you in the used car section and you have to work up to selling new cars. It helps if you have had some type of sales experience in the past. This isn't an easy job, the hours often involved weekend and evening and you may be paid only on a commission basis.

You would be shocked at the work history of some of the employees at your local car dealership. No special training is needed. But I will say, they look for someone who is extrememly confident, well-spoke, great communication, competitive, well-groomed (extremely important). Sort of a hyper, confident personality that can make a sale. It may also help that you have some experience in retail/sales but not really necessary.

If you are interested, you should probaby prepare a resume, then go visit sales managers at the car dealers.
