I feel lost as to how to re-enter the working world which I inhabited from age 15 'til I had kids in my 30s. I have a BS in Zoology & an MS in Counseling (but not licensable as a counselor, don't have the requirements) and served in the military (not in a transferable field, of course! Had to stay out of the workforce much longer than planned due to child w/ a disability but really want to return. But to what? I've been looking and it seems like all the professional jobs I see require qualifications I don't have or degrees I don't hold. Due to certain physical limitations I now have, I can't do jobs involving lifting or prolonged standing (like all day) and that further reduces my options. I'd sure appreciate some suggestions particularly if there's anyone out there who's been a SAHM and been able to re-enter the professional world; please no b.s. jokester-type responses because I don't need to be kicked when I'm down. Thanks!

I have a question about consolidating my debts. I have a friend who used Debt Counseling Corp to do this and has been doing really well. (the website is www.DebtCounselingCorp.org) They send her great info and really seem to be doing a great job. I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with them.
Please don't respoond with telling me about other company's. I would like to hear of other experiences with them specifically.

Thanks!

I am trying to understand my credit situation better so I can fix it. I get a lot of conflicting responses and am not sure what to do.
I have a huge child support debt from about 9 years ago (I am 30) when I was in a situation in which I was unable to work. It is about $16,000. I have been paying on it for years and finally got the interest dropped last month so that my payments actually affect the balance.

I have a judgement to my apartment complex for about $3,000 (which was paid in full.) This was from last year.

I have never had a credit card and have no loans or anything. My credit report lists my 3 child support cases as my 3 accounts.

When I paid for my score it said I was unable to be scored, though in an answer to another question I asked someone said I do have a credit score but its probably low.

Will the public records affect my score and how so. Since I paid the judgement to my apartment complex in full, should that be refected somewhere on my report?

So I am going to buy the house for 819000 dollars. The house has been on the market for about 90 days and I offered to almost pay full price for the house. At least 50 other houses in the same area are up for sale as well. Do you think that I should of offered to pay full price for the house or said no and took my business else where.

I know everyone is saying its a buyers market but what do you do when the seller wants the full price or near the full price? I wanted this house even though no one else offered to buy it.

The plus its a great neighborhood. What would you have done in all honesty. I know the seller was not going to drop the price or if they were, I had no reason to think they would of drop it.

Its a good deal over all. So I wondering anyone else experienced the same thing?

Positive or negative comments are fine too, just remember I want this house.

I worked at Chase for about two months, and learned a lot while I was there that I didn't know before, so I can understand that some of it is just that people don't know how credit cards work. But why won't they listen when we try to explain it? Like the finance charges being done a month behind, for example, means that if you pay off your credit card in 10 days rather than 30, you get charged 10 days of finance charges. Other credit cards charge you the same month, and you get charged 30 days worth, regardless of when you pay it off. So w/ chase you save 20 days worth of finance charges. Plus, if you avoid finance charges by paying in full each month, you're considered non-profitable. That means no fees will be waived unless there was an error caused by the company. (non-reciept of your statement is NOT company's fault, besides, there are at least three other ways to pay your credit card bill besides snail mail).
Why is it people don't want to understand this?

The mortgage company said they would give me a 7% interest rate, not bad considering my credit is shot. So I punch that into a amortization calculator and get a payment on a $75,000 house at $498.98. Yet, the broker said my payment would be about $705. What else are they figuring in to the payment?

Before the more biggotted among you start, I'm thinking about those on DSS because they are working and getting a low wage or are not in a position to work - ie, carers, retired, disabled not those who do nothing.

Also, animals who are well cared for, pose no problems & are clean and of good character!

I want a career in medicine. Can anyone think of any jobs that are medicine based that I can do at 16 as this would look good on an application to a med school.

Also, do supermarkets let 16 year olds with no experience work in a pharmacy, obviously just handling OTC drugs?

Regards
