first off, i live in hawaii. oahu to be exact. me and my friend have been searching for an apartment together for a month now. but alot of places are denying us because we are both first timers. we found an apartment which is by far the nicest that we have seen yet. they are willing to accept us, but the rent is 1550 a month. and we have to pay utilities. the way the utilities work is they take the whole sum of the energy and water used in the entire unit, add it all up and divided by the heads occupying the complex.so since there are two of us, we each would have to pay our own. the sales woman says that it is around 50 dollars per person which is do-able. and all the ratings on the net that i have found about the place say the same thing about the utilities, but they think it is a scam. i bring home about 1500 sometimes more a month. she brings home around 2000. and her boyfriend is moving in as well, which is totally fine for me, but he has agreed to pay only 250 and the utilities.

the business name is Black Jack Vending, it's a soft drink vending business and now i need a slogan. I could say something cheesy like " Always a winning hand" but prefer some like "once you go black, yadda yadda" type thing if you get what the heck i'm talking about...Cheers.

Our house was bought about a year ago. but my credit score sucks, so we qualified w/ the mortgage using only him as the buyer even though my income is greater than his...I would qualify for a particular tax break that he won't qualify for in regards to the yearly school taxes (100% va compensated gets caps on school taxes just as a 65 yr. old would). However, I need to be listed on the grant deed and would like to know if someone has advice. I called the citys school taxes office and the advice wasn't helpful, i.e., I need to be placed on his grant deed.

I currently work for the Union Pacific railroad, I don’t completely understand the 2-tiered railroad retirement. Can anyone help better explain it to me. The only people I can talk to work under the old Southern Pacific agreement and fall under TPA. My question is this:
If I work for 30 years and retire exactly at 60 years of age and never make more than 50k a year what should my retirement look like per month or yearly. I know it goes off my 3 best years but that doesn’t really help my much. If you know what is the average retirement for a conductor (I am a conductor)
Thank you very much for your time and answers.

Okay, we have talked to two different lenders and got two different answers. I think I may have misunderstood them....
What is the maximum % you can borrow with a HELOC in Texas. Let's say the house is worth $100,000 and it is COMPLETELY paid for. Best case/ credit scores etc. scenario...Shouldn't we be able to borrow 80%, which is $80,000? The chic at Bank of America said the limit in Texas is 50%, but the guy at the other place said it was 80%. I'm confused!

I took out a loan recently for $28,000, amortized over 10 years. Payments are approximately $340 per month. I have not made my first payment yet and was wondering if I made a payment of $20,000 if the lender would have to redo the amortization schedule and start charging interest on the new balance of $8,000 or can they continue to charge interest the way the loan was originally written? Are there any laws regarding this?

There are no prepayment penalties on this loan.

My parked car was hit by a van being guided by an unlicensed/uninsured driver. I am now facing a $1000 deductible, though I have liability/comprehensive coverage through AIG. Perfect driving record and hit while parked. Is there a way to avoid paying the 1000 and get my car repaired? The motorist makes $950 per month and the co[ps tell me I can only attempt to sue him civilly. I can't get money from an empty well
