I was pondering the other day about what career I would like to take up when I get out of high school and realized that I do have an interest in the making of consumer electronics (Like mp3 players, and portable devices. Not so much computers). What kind of professions are there that would help in the making of this kind of stuff? Can someone give me a list of careers around this area and tell exactly what they do? Thanks in advanced for your answers.

I recently did a credit report on myself and found several credit cards on there that I had no idea about. At first I assumed my identity had been stolen but then I discovered who had used my credit.

While I was in college, my mom used my social security to get several credit cards using my credit. She was having financial difficulty at the time and used the cards to pay for bills and other expenses.

The limits on those cards were in the thousands and she has maxed them all out. She is unable to pay their balances in full but she has been making the monthly payments on them. She claims they are building my credit but I did not give her permission to do that. She did not inform me that she was using my credit.

What options are available to me in order to get these cards off my credit? I don't think her credit is good enough to take on these cards.

I bought a car from Car-Mart and I'm close to having it paid off now. Car-Mart doesn't report to any credit agencies but I have very little credit history (which is why I had to go to them in first place) and I would like to see this reflected on my credit report.

I've heard rumors that you can contact the credit bureau and ask for a form to have your creditor fill out that can then be reported back to the bureau. Is this true? If so, which of the three credit bureaus would I need to contact?

I was somewhat well off until recently. By no means rich! I was able to pay my bills which is a nice comfort to have. I had great credit and got the best interest rates. Due to unforeseen circumstances, NOT within my control, I basically lost everything. My credit score now reflects my impoverishment. I am attempting to start over yet I am being crucified for my low credit. At this point I may never get back what I had. Each case needs to be reviewed with the individuals past credit history. You cannot control job lose, medical bills, poor economics conditions, etc. Having a low credit score can ruin your future and life for many years. That’s if you ever recover!

In November of 2005 (right after my husband and I deployed to Germany) a collection agency started reporting a charge-off to Experian. In March of 2006 I paid the collection agency in full and it still says charge-off. Is it possible that they could post this as a charge-off? What is the time frame that it must be in collections before it becomes a charge-off? Is there any way to get around this? Especially since technically my husband and I are deployed? Please help someone!! I don't want to have to live the next 7 years with bad credit!!

I worked as a babysitter and did other small jobs and put the money I earned in a savings account. Will I have to pay taxes or something because of this money in the bank? I mean I do not have a permanent job or anything and the money is not a large amount. Also can this affect my financial aid because FAFSA asks if the student has money in the bank. Thank You.

My daughter found an advertised "pets ok" apartment in Boulder, CO, did not have a pet at the time, but made sure that they were ok to have because there have every intention to get one. The Property Management said yes, no problem, with a $200 deposit. They signed the lease..not having any pets, they just got 2 kittens and now the PM is saying they must get rid of them. It is a no-pet lease unless an addendum is attached, and there is no addendum since they didn't have the pets to begin with. Unfortunately the gal who original showed them the apt is not working there any more. This is a very old house with 3 apts in it, and one tenant does have a cat.....how can I proceed with this, they would not have rented this place in the first place is it was NO Pets..

For the past few years, I've been living at home (rent-free) which is good in that it allowed me to save money, but bad for other reasons.

Anyway, I'm looking to live elsewhere, but I'm looking for advice on what I should be considering. First off, I want to continue to live in NY (Queens, or Brooklyn). I'm a single guy in my mid-20's, not looking to get married or have kids in the near future (though I can't say that won't happen within the next 5 years, although it is doubtful). For the record, I make about $60K a year at a pretty stable job, and have a little over $65K in savings.

Now, if you were me, would you consider buying a house, a co-op, condo or would you rent?

I tend to get really depressed at work. I don't have any friends at work, and I'm probably going to lose my job late this year or early next year. I don't like what I do. I'm looking for a new job. Once 5:30 rolls around, I feel okay again. Anyone else experience the same thing?

I would like to know if there is a chart or list to see how much % we need to pay for every dollar we earn. I know that the more you earn the more taxes you pay but it seems to me a little to much to pay 19% for 700 a week...and it is only for one week that I received a bonus!!!

Okay, I'm moving from Seattle to Orlando in January and need a new career... I could be considered a good "office manager/receptionist/secretary" but was thinking of getting into the medical billing/coding... if anyone is doing that now -do you like it? -does it pay well? -would you continue doing it for the next 10 years, or is it more of a 5 year career?

I have gone to a university but it was only for 1 year... was thinking of going back a community college then possibly to UCF when I can afford to do so... but in the mean time I really don't want to get involved with retail/grocery/food or even seasonal positions... for the past 3 yrs i've been in a high end $40K/YR salary and im in my early twenties... what are some other good careers that are good for ppl with "some college" who enjoy the desk-type jobs?? again, i dont want something that will be a part-time dead end career.... just looking for input!
