I just started working a low paying job. But its better than nothing. Im trying to pay off my bills but I have direct deposit(i hate paychecks). Anyways I'm in debt by like 3,000.....i know a few of my accounts were sent to a collection agency. What do the collection agency do?? and will they take money out of my direct deposit accoutn which is in my bank account?? Thanks!!

They only way they can take money from a deposit account OR garnish wages is with a court order. To get such an order, they mush sue you first and win. They hove to serve you with notice if they sue you. If these are credit card bills, don't even believe they are in collections until you receive legal notice from an attorney. Credit card collectors are known for lying about EVERYTHING.

No, they can't go into your account at the bank. However, should someone receive a juddgement against you, the court can order that you wages be garnished, This means the your employer will make a payment to the owed party out of your pay, and give you the balance. The amount of garnishement is up to the court.
