I had an account that was charged off on 2001. Is there any way to have this account reflected as charged off in 01 because the company is still reporting the charge off currently. When I call and ask about it, no one has any information for me to even try and settle it. What canI do?

I am in my last year of law school and I am looking for creative (legal) ways to impress employers. I have tried writing letters, reaching out to alumni, showing up to social events firms have, etc. What are some creative ways for impressing employers that's not cheesy and that's practical and works?

Tomorrow I have an Interview with a large Investment Company, during which they will probably ask, "what can I contribute to the company?" or "what can I bring to the company?" you get the idea. So what do I then say without sounding dumb? I want to sound professional and knowledgeable even though I have never worked in a place like that before.

I work for a company who has an employee in need of their W-2 forms from 1995 to 1998. I was wondering if there is any other way to find them, perhaps online through the IRS, so I do not have to spend a whole day in the back of a dark, dirty trailer. Please help if you can....Thanks!

why are people complaining? they had a chance to do good in school, go to college and get a job they want. thats what college is for right? whats the point of going to college if youre still going to be stuck with a job you dont like? i want to be a vet assistant, and i dont even need college for it. a lot of people tell me to go to college anyway, but whats the point? i dont even need college to do what i want. i dont want to go to college, get myself in debt and get stuck with a job i dont want. what do you think i should do?
ps. dont tell me to go to college to become a vet, i dont want to be a vet, not right now anyway. it takes way too much money and schooling to become one and i dont want to do surgeries either.

Hello all. I am basically posting this about myself and feel pretty helpless. For the past few years, I have been very Independent financially, working hard at my jobs and have taken out quite a few loans (Credit cards, loans). Recently, I decided to quit my 2nd job and 1st job and now have been between jobs for the past 3 months. I have two new jobs lined up, but the debt is overwhelming, I can't move in with anyone to catch up (my parents wont help) and have even contiplated bankruptsy at this young age. Is there any other solution out there to help someone as young and stupid as I (lol)? Any good and/or practical advice would be helpful.

When I was young, my grandma would buy me (and my brothers) US Savings Bonds. I am now a grown man, and I am still holding on to them. Well, I have some home improvements coming up, and I could take out a home equity loan or line of credit to pay for them. But I've got these savings bonds sitting there just collecting dust. So I could cash them in and offset the amount of equity I'd have to use for these improvements. But here is my concern. I know that if you cash them in, you have to claim the interest earned on your federal taxes. So let's say I have a $2500 savings bond that is now worth $5000 (so it has earned $2500 in interest). If I would cash that in, how badly would I get hurt come tax time? Can anyone tell me approximately what percentage of that $2500 I would end up having to give back to Uncle Sam? I am just trying to avoid getting myself into trouble, where I'll end up owing $2000 next year. That would pretty much defeat the purpose of cashing them in.

Hi Guys!

I had an interview last Thursday that went REALLY well with a great company. It's a family owned business and the owner's daughter interviewed me. She said that I was already in the "yes" pile for a 2nd interview even before I left, and called her dad (the owner) out of his office and said "Dad, this is Samantha and I want you to put a face with the name, because I think she is really great for this position". I got a call today to come in this Thursday for the 2nd interview. They even called my references. I've never had a second interview in my previous jobs so I'm not sure what to expect. If you all could give me some insight on what I need to prepare for or how it will go, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!! :)
