How do I prove that each year they gave me 10,000 each. As it stands, the gifts were kept as cash and only recently did I deposit the whole lump sum into a CD. How do I prove to the IRS that the CD was the result of 10 ten years worth of tax-exempt gifts?

...and her son on our taxes this year. The problem I have is this...
she has made about $3,000 this year, and has not lived here for 2 years now. Can he do this? Is this legal? She lives with her grandparents and they are keeping them both up.
If she only made that much, and the grandparents decided to claim them both, would they have to fill a return for her since she worked. Does she have to fill a claim at all
Ihope this made some since.

I went and actually applied for the job today
-- My pay will be $3.50 an hour (Not including tips), And I hear most only get $2.00 - $2.15.

The only problem i'm worried about is not making as much as I would at a regular job, Where I wouldnt be serving tables.

Do the tips I get make up for less salary?

I have been getting my part-time salary paid into First Direct for the last few years, and until now have been very happy with their service....but was horrified today to get a letter telling me that unless I had at least £1,500 PER MONTH coming into my current account, and/or I took out at least one other service with First Direct, they would start charging me £10 a month from Feb 2007!

Does anyone else's bank charge people for failing to get a decent income?! And thus make the person's income even less decent?

My lease expired on 10/31/06. I have not signed a new lease as of 11/14/06. The existing lease states that if I do not sign a new one, that the current lease automatically extends, landlord is charging me $35 for every month that I do not renew lease.(it did not say for how long, month 2 month or yearly) Do I have to give my landlord notice that I am moving?
Also, I have had problems with electrical stuff, 2 hot in summer, and bcuz of probems, cud not run AC. Now, No heat, and landlord tells me that 5 more days for proper technician to come. currently 55 degrees in PA.
I am definitely moving out (end of month) but wanted to know best way to protect myself. FYI, landlord tried to evict me last month for Aug and Sep rent being late. I did a pay and stay agreement, paid all past due rent. I feel like they are jerking bcuz my rent was late last 2 months, should I just leave? or should I 'fight' cuz serious problems with 'standard of living'

i hear this on TV and radio all of the time. i am sure that the rich pay a lot of it, but i think that the figures are skewed. When ALL of the taxes are included, i mean, sales tax, ad valorem, social security and medicare withholdings, gasoline tax, car tags, cigarette tax, and all of the rest are included, not just income tax. do the top say, 5% really pay over 50% of the governments total income from taxes?

I'm looking to buy 40 acres in Maine to re-sell and make a profit.I know that it depends on the area but I don't know where it is. My girlfriends mother's friend lives out West and is selling it cheap to get rid of it. The only information I have on it is that its wooded with no roads and about 7 miles from the coast. Are there any land value calculators I can use to check the value of a piece of land?

If I inherit my family's house after the death of both parents, can the executor sell the home without first informing me and getting my written consent?

Does anyone know of a case where someone's inherited property was sold without the heir knowing about the sale, due to the executor pretending that the next of kin cannot be found?
