At a bank...im a wamu if that matters. i dont know if they charge, yearly, monthly...

I was told by a Citibank manager that if you maintain $100,000 balance or more, the safety box fee is waived. The average price is $40-$50. Check with your local bank and ask if they will give you a discount or have it waived if you were to maintained a certain balance in your account. The fee is generally a yearly thing,always shop around to locate the best deal !!!!!

It is usually a yearly fee. The fee is dependent on how big the SD box is. You can also get banking packages that include a safety deposit box as part of the package.

Here in New England we were paying $75 a year for a small one.

We got fed up with the increasing costs and bought a small fireproof safe instead.
